Not every Elite game need be a big release.
I would happily by Elite mini games if they were release!
Some things that come to mind:

Flight center operator on a space station.
Basically an air traffic control game in 3D.
A preclude to a real in game Job in E4?

Galactic Stock Trading game (Statistical MMO)
You manage trades and transportation.
Basically railroad tycoon with trading.

The Mining Hermit (Introduction to REAL space)
Locating & Mining Asteriods
A REAL Physics space sim.
Onboard computers manage nav.


A mirad of other activities in Elite could be played as minor release games
via downloadable content on both Wii and Xbox 360 consoles.

Jo do know there isn't much MMO on console.

Because the dev have to deal with serverside demands of each console firm online service.

It's like a extreem barrier no dev had passed.

Maybe if MS is the publiher make it a xbox360 exlusive then you might get a MMO on there game thing.

No dev release mini games extracten from there manyu iteration trough production. I wonder why.

I think its this, what you want is like a demo wich uses only a specific part of the game in production.

The problem is this demo and so call mini game take design effort and dev budged to make them releasable.

Funding is limited so the focus on the main production and demo is more a marketing investment. Some do but many not.

I think a colonisation game in the Elite universe would be great. They could put this out on Android. The best 'droid game currently is Space Traders Elite, and this would be even better if done by Braben.

I LOVE those ideas. Especially the first one. I would want it on PC though, not online.
