Elite: The Movie...

I'm retired, everything is paid for and I don't need much. But If I ever win the lottery I'm going to Hollywood to produce the movie version of "Elite: The Dark Wheel". I lived in Los Angeles for 26 years so I know a few people. Start with an expanded screenplay by the current best writers (hope to get Aaron Sorkin), J J Abrams to direct, the Stan Winston Studios for the live effects and Industrial Light & Magic for the digital. I like Universal Studios (maybe get Speilburg to also produce) but could go with an independent as selling a space drama in Hollywood is not always easy especially since I want considerable control over the script to get it right. But first I have to get the film rights from the family of the author Robert Holdstock (died in 2009) as well as the controlling rights that Frontier Developments has. Given the legal and resulting emotional issues with the Elite series in the last 30 years money may not always resolve this.

Anyway I'm going to need a major lottery win! Let's hope it's soon as all these talents are not getting any younger! As I'll probably never win those who could pull this off should consider my approach to get the movie made. Done right this is another Star Wars phenomenal reception that could go far beyond what George Lucas achieved in 1977 with the Star Wars release. In 2015 there is a now much bigger audience in the world!

Regards

Well done Anuranium, this is great stuff,
I think ive seen a few discussions on recreated sci fi movies with elite.. but you've gone and done loads of clips.
the space 1999 stuff makes me laugh. the type 6 was just to bouncy to crash like an eagle. we should have blown me up at the end and done a cut. but the funky disco saves it.
Keep up the great work and I hope fdev give you a prize for doing something very cool. let me know if you need any more stunt men.. ill be in my trailer snorting herculis body rub.

Main rep tank (still) drained. Love the ET one, must have taken a few tries to frame that perfectly, and the Red Dwarf was perfect :D

Am I the only one who watched the Apollo 13 one and waited for an exploding oxygen tank only to be mildly disappointed? Mildly because it was still a nice video.

Great stuff!

Independence Day was my favorite. The shadow and the pan up were perfect!

Close Encounters made me laugh.

Slight deduction for not being in Vipers for Battlestar...

Using the universally accepted and totally objective method for critiquing film, I rate this series Cheese Wedge out of Wheelbarrow
