Elite got dangerouse or was it a bug?

Entered a strong signal source in my combat python, saw lawless Phytons and Fdls who opend instantly fire at me and i decided better to jump out again. i started to boot up supercruise. I was still at full shield when suddenly my ship heat went up, 70, 90, 120, 140, 180, 200 degree!
I jumped out with over 200 degree ship heat and 1 ring on my shield. Of course my ship explode, there was nothing i could do.

I have plenty of credits so the bill to cover the insurance was not the problem, but it would be interesting if NPC ships now use a sort of uber weapons that produce heat on other ships, even when shields are up, or i lost my ship to a nasty bug.

Masslock by ships. You'll have got a message when activating FSD saying "masslocked by factor of 18" or something like that.
The more ships there are (and the bigger they are) the slower your FSD charges up and the more heat it produces trying to break the masslock.

NPC's also got buffed in 1.3 to be more accurate and deadly.
Combine that with Strong Signal Sources and you really really need a wing to do them now :)

Is that true? Do multiple ships add more mass disruption or is it only the single ship with the highest mass disruption which has an effect?

For example, does 1 Python cause disruptive mass of 17 but 2 Pythons cause disruptive mass of 34? I thought it was just 17.
