Elite has been awesome for over 30 years - NOW PAYBACK IS COMING.

It's time for Awesome to become Elite!

Since the premium beta launched a few years ago, I've enjoyed many adventures in a wide selection of ships that have brought me to this point where I am poised on the brink of fortune and glory - 99% deadly, 99% tycoon and 76% pioneer. I'm 2 jumps from home after a long exploration trip with 200M worth of passengers and scans of 850 neutron stars.

My trusty ship, the DISCO INFERNO, exploring strange new worlds

The big triple-E awaits, but I have one last big adventure to survive. Next Monday night, I'm going sit down in the Awesome command chair and attempt to get all 3 in the shortest possible time.

To keep with the 'payback' theme, I'm going to livestream the whole thing to provide some sort of poor excuse for entertainment for the community, and more importantly every credit earned during the stream will be converted to present day £ for Special Effect (adjusted for 1000 years of compound interest, so 1MCr = £1). The plan is that next monday night from 8pm:

1. Land the data from the exploration trip. This will be the highest bit of drama of the night for me - the efforts of the last 4 weeks of exploration all hang in the balance. One crazy NPC, one suicidewinder or other mishap could destroy it all. My passengers don't want to get scanned, so I'm hoping for some help with a 'smokey and the bandit' docking with some distraction tactics on final approach.
2. Drop off a couple of passengers and sell enough data to get to 99%. Refit for combat operations, take on trade missions, and pause for a tasty beverage. I'll also buy some valuable cargo to bribe for any pirates that may be out there - if they can make me drop it and LEAVE ME ALIVE then the charity gets a bonus.
3. Go hunting!
4. The moment I achieve Combat Elite the clock starts ticking, so I'll perform a 'Sir Robin' and complete the cargo missions as quickly as possible to obtain Trade Elite, then sell a bit more exploration data to obtain Exploration Elite.
5. If my remaining passengers haven't ejected, go back and drop them off and sell the rest of the data for £££.
6. Time to celebrate with a run to Shinrarta Dezhra to buy myself a Cutter.
7. One-on-one PVP fighter rumble. Take on a newly triple-elite fighter pilot. Bring anything. This will last until I run out of fighers!

Will it be fortune and glory or wreckage and rebuy? tune in to find out.

*EDIT* There will be a surprize prize for the most entertaining gatecrash of my stream by another cmdr. In the event of a tie my decision is final.
*EDIT again* Added a PVP rumble to the end, because shooting things is fun.

o7 Commander Awesome.

Sounds like you've set yourself a nice challenge.

Yeah, I've painted a great big SHOOT ME target on my back. It's all going to be in open. There will be no combat logging. I'm hoping there will be random crazyness and perhaps some good, honest piracy but who knows what's going to happen?

I may be able to sort out a prize for whoever intrudes into the stream in the most hilarious way.

quite the achievement - good luck getting that data safely cashed in. your hotas setup is pretty sweet btw

I really enjoyed my time in the neutron fields, some truly remarkable systems.
Something about hanging out with blackholes and neutron stars,so very far from the bubble.
I plan to return, and then on to the far edge.

Yeah, the skies are pretty out there. Excuse the relatively poor screenshot - VR+laziness reasons.

The "Disco Inferno"... now that, OP, is a cool Anaconda!

Thanks.
The skin is from Lavecon.
The name is a riff on the Disco Volante, which was a really cool superyacht in a Bond movie that turned into a battle-jetfoil when trouble started. Disco inferno kinda suggests it's own soundtrack and seems appropriate given the number of beam lasers...

Well you do have a soundtrack for your ship, which is where I thought you got it from.
Disco Inferno, by The Trammps.

Plus that's your crews uniforms sorted out.
.
Also please change "The big tripe-E awaits" in your OP, your accomplishment deserves more than tripe ! :D

Have to agree, on my last big trip I must have mapped 1500 or so of them, not for the credits but because there is some crazy stuff in those systems and the views are amazing. It was before the galmap showed visited systems to I might recreate it after 2.3 drops (this time very much for credits lol).
