General Elite has lost it's luster

I'm having trouble finding a reason to log on lately...
I used to be able to work with other Pilots to complete Wing Missions for 50 Million Credits. At least it was fun working with other pilots... and it helped Noobs get started. Nerfed. I used to be able to mine and make lots of Credits. Nerfed. Now I have no way to buy a Fleet Carrier without spending MONTHS doing work to get the credits required. Boring. Frontier has NERFED the game to the point I no longer have a reason to play. I have 2 corvettes, several Anacondas, so even CZs are boring. I have all the Engineers I want. Frontier used to give us at least one way to make credits (perhaps accidentally, since they nerf every one) to do what we want.
Even HasRes sites have very few bad guys to kill. Boooooring!
I used to play the game daily. Now, I have trouble finding a reason to log on. Hardcore lovers of the game (of which I was once one) will provide all kinds of grief about the post, but your opinion means absolutely zero to me. This message is for Frontier, not the players. Oh sure, I'll buy the FPS version when it comes out (well, maybe after the guaranteed buggy release) but if I wanted a FPS I would play World of Warcraft or a Star Wars game ...

Wake Up Frontier! Give me a reason to play this game again!

I actually see my balance go up after trading, bounty hunting or conflict zones like never before - I was never doing the thing folks recommended to be the most efficient, though, so I only represent a part of the player base that doesn't have credit balance as the goal.

Elite is a game with so many different activities. It never gets boring because of this - if you find yourself engaged in enough different activities, you can go on for years. I recommend you try doing different stuff.

So for me the huge inflation in credits has had the same issue so your nerf is my improvement.
As for CZs being boring... I do kind of agree there is so much more which could be done with combat. (This is mostly related to RES but am sure something could be done for CZ) but rather than having endless numbers of spawning ships in a conveyor belt I would rather it be genuine protect a miner until it's load is full then escort to a base, then the mission is done, or to clear out a base whi hbhas been over run by pirates (that would work now in space but be even better in ED:O where we could clear inside the base as well).

As for using a corvette being boring....... This can be solved by not using such OP vessels. The sad truth is there is not really content for the massive ships other than trade (or inexplicably exploration due to the magic hull of the conda) ifnswattibg flies is not your thing.

I mothballed my conda for the same reason and am back in my anti meta FGS, built specifically so I can enjoy combat, made so that it ISNT as tough as it could be but instead gone for utility.

It's not ideal. There should be content for all ships in the game which can be a challenge.

Want a real challenge? Try using an eagle for combat or do some black box missions in an adder or build a mining cobra IV.

playing the BGS (combat elements) require doing combat efficiently, and there is a considerable skill curve beyond simply 'can reliably win a CZ'. I see some players grinding away with terrible builds and that would bore the hell out of me too. its a different challenge to PvP, in that winning a combat isnt everything, its barely the beginning. different approach to shipbuilds, different ways to tackle the various scenarios, all towards putting down more Inf in more places than your various opposition cmdrs.

CZ mission kill numbers havent been reduced much since npc ships were considerably tanked a couple of years back (when CZs were made less grindy with more variability & Events added) a reduction in kill numbers for more of these missions would open up more utility for more players, albeit at a detriment to winggrinders.

I too, am finding it difficult, for some reason ED has lost something, via the recent patches and it no longer makes me want to logon, the thought of infinate grinding and repitition to progress furtrher just turns me off, now more than it ever did. I have 30 billion credits, 5 main engineered ships from cutter to diamonback, I've tried FCs 3 times always finish up de-commisioning them, any suggestions?

I agree. Rather than buff pay I would much rather cut numbers .... If I only have 30 mins I am not gonna take a kill 48 ship combat mission. Actually not sure if already tweaked or maybe it is because I am in New space and not allied.... But in the current CG most of the kill pirate missions I am getting are under 10 targets which is far more useful. I would rather have 10 missions to kill 10 pirates each paying 1.5million than 1 mission of kill 100 pirates for 15 million.

Looks like you have the money done, so why burn yourself out for more? Get the most fun ship, play with outfitting, engineer it slowly as you go and find your personal sweet spot, your preferred activities.

for me the best ship is the Eagle MK II, most fun to fly, naturally I am not that much into bulk trading, but it is great for bountyhunting, scenarios at installtions and megaships, conflict zones, teabagging (if allocation is <= 20t), data mission running, local exploration (not all exploration has to be 50k ly away), scouting and just goofing around stations and installations. Thargoid scouts are easy, Cyclops I am in the process of building a third Eagle for it.

For mining I use a Keelback - I don't need to earn 100s of millions, I just want to 'splode some pretty rocks and chill a bit when I mine. But I am already filthy rich, with nearly 2 billion credits in cash, and it only going up (apart from that one purchase of a carrier, which I like to have around to have all my ships in one place - upkeep is cheap too)

But as often pointed out, you shouldn't be "grinding", what's this rush to get to the "end-game" when there isn't one? A sandbox is what you make it: you get out of the game what you put in. I've been having huge fun meeting and helping new players in the Pilot's Federation District (new start zone). But also playing with my player-group, the Privateer's Alliance, helping with BGS expansion of our faction. And lots of other activities. Don't grind the game, let credits and Arx accumulate as you play naturally. And get involved with Twitch streamers and player group factions. You really do reap what you sow in this galaxy.

Find yourself a nice system that has a single anarchy within its immediate vicinity. Get allied with all the factions. Stack pirate massacre missions
Then do it again for another 2-4 systems - so when the mission boards dry out due to bgs changes, you can quickly move to another system.

You can easily make 150 millions per hour. Maybe more.

Or you can stack certain mining missions. Heard some pay really well

I understand the OP because I was in his shoes a few years back just after I got my spanking new Anaconda.

ED at it's core has been designed with grind acting as substitute content. It is a really shallow game and
once one steps out the grindy rat race threadmill, two things can happen : Either you enjoy the mile wide - inch of depth galaxy for
what it is and offers... or you don't. It does not help that the most fun to be had is in activities that one never does in the rat race,
such as SRV racing in the horeshead nebula with friends, destruction derbies above high G planets, canyon racing in racer builds or
stealing an other miner player void opals with a stealth DBS.

It's a very flawed game with heartbreaking amount of wasted potential, but I still love it to bits. Especially the good ones.

Bounty hunt in open. Find a compromised nav beacon and park carrier nearby. No missions no stress timers.
I'm in my fdl railer having a scream. On this occasion an empire bgs dood wanders in. Scanned me...low waked out.
2 minutes later he is back only with a a mucker. Uhh.
I'm clean.
Their clean...... time ticks slowly as we meander around one another them in 2 vettes. Hmmmm mebbe I should run whilst stand off is ongoing... in the end they left... phew!
And at that point I realised i hadn't synthed I was down to 8 rounds in each rail!!
Play open...play right in the heart of their bgs. Raise hell....cos man that was scarey@

If the message isn't for the players, why not PM it to Arthur?

We all just gonna skip over the fact the OP claimed World of Warcraft is a FPS game?
