Hi commanders!
I've started a week ago the trip to the center of our galaxy. For fun, and hopefully some surprises all along ^^
Well, my search for surprises was very fast settled...
I've bought a hauler, emptied it of cargospace, found a better FSD, removed weapons.... and here I went out, racing to the center, more than exploring! On each jump once I entered deep unknow space, I scanned the right in front popping sun.
Sometimes violet, sometimes white, red, one time I had 3 suns aligned very close each other... well, so far no real excitements. After the 20 first minutes of jumping and scanning, a pirate! I evaded... that happened a few times, until: I didn't get evaded. This patatoe (before getting redacted), took my shields down and got my hull down to 73% before I could jump away.
2 more jumps and I couldn't evade a 2nd time... even if I'm able to boost nearly w/o pausing due to the new power core I upgraded...
Now where the excitement start, is here... I realized that I'm on a suicide path! I stopped scanning popping stars, and just headed in front, with.... 23% hull (result from the last interdiction I couldn't evade from!).
There is no way back anymore, no repair possible, I'm left to make direction center 20Ly jumps over and over.
I'm half down the way to it... with 23% hull (I knew I should have taken at least shieldcells!).
Now what, will I die before even being able to reach further distances? Is there really no friendly life around?
Not complaining, just didn't knew I'd start a suicide mission, at my stage I guess I'm ..... alone and dead without knowing it yet... Half the way down, a few hours already... that would have been the longest non rewarding mission I did so far.
Now, it's not ALL over... I'll try to fly further, even with only 23% of hull left, cooking my balls whilst refueling every 4-5th jump on a star... ^^
