Elite is now a pay-to-win game...

Forcing PvE elements on PvP players in order for them to stay competitive, infuriates them.

They are so infuriated, that countless have decided to pay someone else to grind away for them. This is creating a pay-to-win atmosphere which is NOT GOOD for Elite.

I will NOT be bored to death grinding PvE elements of the game and I will NOT pay someone else to be bored to death for me.

I've been playing since June 2014 with well over 4,000 hours invested and refuse to continue playing because of this.

Fix this FD or your game will die...

OP, just how did you come across the credits to get into anything besides a Sidewinder? Pay to win? Your definition stretches credulity. Put your big boi pants on, and get good. It's not hard.

I bet you could go to YouTube and search for video's on how to gain influence with the Engineers. I bet someone from the Mobius group would even be willing to help you sort it out.

Lord, if the enhancements that someone might get to a weapon or two on their ship will tip the balance against you that much...you're doing something wrong. Really, they aren't that uber powerful. Ask anyone who is getting them after what it takes, they aren't all that impressed. It's part of the problem, it's too much for too little.

Rule number one of online gaming never take PvP in a game not purely focused on PvP too seriously.

If you want a real PvP focused game that is well balanced and skill is the only determining factor hit up CQC.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that elite dangerous will be just fine. It will continue being fine years from now.

I've seen much much worse mmo's continue to exist with an active player base 10+ years being online. Elite is safe

Curious. this is the OP's last post from 2 weeks ago:
This game is called Elite: Dangerous for a reason. The NPC's are still NOT hard enough. I vote for making them even tougher.
One could have thought he liked PVE.

Be Happy.
Players who got no Horizons first need to buy this to even be allowed Paying other Players to go Farming for them.

Given that some Upgrades can Increase Weapons Power Tremendously thats even more Unfair.

It's "endless grinding to maybe win at the lottery/ spin to win and you get perfect stat roll on first try" - the current mechanics are very debatable; arguably frontier whiffed the RNG aspect badly. But it's not pay to win.

Potential effort is required to gain an advantage; there is no such thing as a free lunch. If you want an edge, Horizons 2.1 provides it.

Shock, a newer update adds more things. I think that's called "value proposition" which is actually a fairly important part of a paid goods or service. As a side note, frontier doesn't believe in "fair" for the sake of it. This tends to be a surprise to many.

My thoughts on this are... "oh, boohoo."[/QUOTE]

PvE players are not forced to PvP if they don't want to. All they have to do is HIGH WAKE.

However, If PvP players want to stay competitive in 2.1, they are FORCED to be bored to tears with engineers.

PvP used to be a profitable venture with large player bounties until gold farmers ruined it. I made my money hunting players and collecting their large bounties.

It's obvious you're new to the game. The time of large player bounties was amazing. I wish you could have been there.

By making NPCs even harder, PvE players become even better pilots which aids in them becoming amazing PvP pilots at some point.

oh. Perhaps you didn't get it the first time round so... "oh boohoo".

Play the game, or go play something else. There's more than combat here.

And it may not have occurred to you, but non PvP players in open are also "bored to tears" with being interdicted & shot at and forced to high wake for lulz. When you're a bit more sympathetic to them, maybe they'll be more sympathetic to you.

What makes you think I don't want to see the player base in open thrive? Let me know when you actually want to play Elite how it was meant to be played.

When the time comes for you to take your first steps into open, I would be happy to be there. Whether you need backup or some PvP tips, I want to see you and everyone else become an awesome pilot.

 WOW YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME TO GET UPGRADES?

In all seriousness, you didn't get "forced" to do pve elements in 2.1... that's how it's always been. You make 0 credits from pvp (unless you're killing wanted players which I doubt is the case)

My only problem with 2.1 is I think that if i want to do combat, I shouldn't need to do trading and exploring too, to get mats for upgrades. They should be accessable from all playsyles.

This is such a stupid myth-- the CQC game mode is more simplistic and unbalanced and arcady as the worst COD game in existence. It is an extremely low skill mode. If it were great then it would attract a large following and it simply doesn't.
