So i was not alone thinking of getting a GTX970 (even maybe an 980) and a new 27in monitor and an additional 8gb of ram.

but sadly(for my wallet) and happily (for me) the wife got knocked up so i have to decide between buying baby stuff or sweet sweet technology.

Well, I bought the mercenary edition and bought into beta. Cannot remember the cost, however tack on the TrackIr 5 and Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and I have dropped a few dollars on this game to. For anyone looking for a good HOTAS and has the funds to go with it, in my opinion You just cannot go wrong with a Warthog HOTAS. Maybe I got lucky but the stick is smooth as silk with no binding or such and the throttle is also smooth as silk. See You in the black!

Yes, sadly that is true. I've been eyeing that one for a while until I learned this single fact. The warthog was designed for flight sim fans and flight sim fans think having a twist axis on their sticks is sacrilege because real fighter planes don't have this - they have rudder pedals. If there was a warthog class stick with a twist axis, I'd buy it for sure.
