Marsport! I had forgotten that one, a great game.:) My memory of the Hobbit was "you are in a tunnel..." and incredibly long loading times.
Amusingly, my son in law just got Bejing Olympics on PSP3 and it was a prettier version of Daley Thompson's frantic joystick wiggling all those years ago!

Ahh Daley Thompson on the spectrum's rubber keys....

And the hobbit, great fun the old interactive fiction games, personal favourite

"you wake up. The room is spinning very gently round your head. Or at least it would be if you could see it which you can't.

It is pitch black. "

Describes most mornings for me!

Aww but the supreme loading screen more than made up for the wait!

That is one damn scary dragon!

Can't believe there were so many of us! That loading screen is great Turwhitt.
While we're reminiscing, did anyone manage to get into the bedroom in Jet Set Willy? I never did, but don't think I was missing much!

You obviously never got hold of the JSW nude patch! erm...

As i remember it it wasn't hard to get into the bedroom - it was just a couple of rooms left of the starting location ( http://mdfs.net/Software/JSW/JGH/Screens/BigMap.htm ). But without all the items you'd be killed by the housekeeper before you could reach your bed. And it was impossible (actually impossible, due to bugs!) to get them all.

Well, I was good in Manic Miner, but I never did anything in Jet Set Willy. The reason? Precisely, the loading screen. I am music lover, and I simply couldn't stop playing the loading screen for half an hour each time I started JSW. And by the time I finally had enough of it, I didn't have enough time left to play the game, :). Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eAL-5T4Ohg

Your right, didn't find that one out for years!

Thanks I never realized that! Though I seem to remember she was large, pixellated and had a rolling pin, so not much incentive to get in...

Yes, great games, and Knight Lore was 3D:eek:. This link gives details:

the program was 48k!!!! With hindsight, I rememember thinking how cool it was that wolf was spelt with a "u" so maybe I was a little easily pleased....

(Another incentive to get Elite4 out soon as the bar just keeps going up and up....)

And I thought it was only me  I liked the way they created the logo.

The old games were so addictive, quality over quantity.
