Elite no longer working on Vive at all after last update

I tried to play Elite this weekend and I needed to update. Afterwards, I was unable to get it to render in the Vive. I can see it on screen but nothing at all on the Vive. Spent about a half hour in all tinkering with settings since Saturday and still nothing.

Anyone else having this issue since the update?

Elite or Steam update? I heard some people had success using the SteamVR beta if you updated that. (I don't own a Vive yet)

Does anything else work in VR? I regularly (every other day it seems) have to spend an hour or so messing with my Vive setup to make it work again after something gets updated...

I wasn't aware there was anything Vive-specific in this update- I haven't noticed a difference, although I can confirm I haven't got a problem rendering to the Vive afterwards.

However, what I do have to do is whenever an update to ED or any executable happens, I have my Kaspersky prompt for confirmation, and that stops the rendering to the Vive- so maybe check your anti-virus?

Also, I am running SteamVR beta because there are constant fixes issued by Valve, and I've not idea how long they take to get out to the non-beta version so it is worth using the beta IMO.

So, when you open SteamVR from Steam, the box that appears that shows the Vive, controllers and lighthouse status icons says "SteamVR beta" in the top left. If you aren't set to use the beta, that might be your problem.

Have you got an AMD card and updated your graphics drivers? If so, you currently have to unplug your link box before any driver updates otherwise Windows gets all confused.

Just got my Vive yesterday. I haven't tried Elite yet, but will try to give it a shot tonight.

I'm running SteamVR non-beta currently. We'll see how that goes.

Just curious, are you seeing no video what-so-ever, or is it a gray screen, something else? Gray screens usually indicate a tracking problem. Completely dark is a display problem. Check to see if the light on the left side of the HMD is red or green when you have the problem. If its green, it potentially may not be a problem with the HMD. Could be Elite. More likely Elite or a config setting in Elite if other VR titles work for you. The Vive is still new to me so haven't played a heck of a lot with it yet, but it seems quite sensitive to what your resolution is set to (your system, and your application). If the res is off, the HMD displays seem to remain dark.

I'm not using the Steam version. Would it be advisable to switch to it?
I have an Nvidia card and the drivers are up to date.
It did work before this past weekend. I was able to fly a few training missions to see how it felt.

Getting gray screen, green light on the headset.

All other games work flawlessly except for 5089. I'm currently trying to work with phr00t (the dev) on solving the issue there.

UPDATE -
I got it working again! I guess a reboot after the driver and game update did the trick.

I have to admit, it is pretty awesome playing this in VR. Possibly the best VR experience yet! :D
