Elite on an Ultra wide monitor

Has anyone experience with running elite on one of those ultra wide monitors (like 34")? Does it work or is everything all stretched out?

It does not look stretched, it does look much better than 1920x1080 however it does not work with 2 x 2560x1080 due to nVidia drivers scaling them both to 1920x1080. After a month of back and forth and three tickets with nVidia they cannot do it unless multiple 2560x1080 res scrns are from the same batch with exactly the same scrns and even then it "may" not work.

One issue that’s come up frequently on widescreens is that in the system maps, the verbiage and pointer line do not line up with the planet/station you’re trying to point at. Gets very frustrating at times. Regards

I've got an Acer X-34 P 34'' Ultra-Wide and I LOVE IT!!!!! .... but there are some minor niggles... the planets as you pass them.. looking out of the left/right cockpit of your ship... the planets are ''ovalated'' until you look on them face on as it were. The only other problem is in the Gal Map & System Map... in the latter; the ''pointer'' line pointing to your selected body is completely off until you zoom-in to max magnification... this is soon forgotten and of negligible impact once you are used to it.... it has been highlighted forever to FDev as a fault .... but no fix nor comment has ever been forthcoming. You can tinker with the FOV in ''Graphic Options'' and this does have some useful results with a 34'' Ultra-Wide.... I run at 3440x1440 ........ hope this all helps mate!

Go Buy a curved 34'' Ultra-Wide you won't regret it!..... (The Acer X-34 P is as far as I know the only monitor of that size that is GSync straight out of the box, which is why i bought one.... you do need a recent nVidia GPU tho)

I have to agree with you on that. I have two of the Acer Predator X-34 and a Acer 27 in 144hz and I love them!
