Elite on an Ultra wide monitor

UPDATE:

I have been testing this Acer X34

Nearly ZERO issues in Elite Dangerous. Stretching is not even noticeable, I've had many people and gamers check it out and ask them. They always reply it is not noticeable.

DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER.

I use this monitor and my experience is quite different. Can you show a screenshot with a planet at the far left or right of the screen? If it's not distorted, I'd like to know your settings.

It's not distorted, not a single one of the dozen or so folks I've shown and tested would say so. Do you have TrackIR? Do you constantly sit and stare at the edges of your display? I do not. So perhaps that is my "problem".

It's not that bad. What are your FOV settings?

The issue (for me) is not the distorted image. It are things not scaling like the galmap. See the issue in the tracker

Nothing a 1100 euro monitor will fix

Sounds very cool. Thanks. Hopefully when mine arrives it won't be like the new tv that arrived (free crackle screen on that one, sent it back for a replacement.)
Don't remember if I followed up. I ended up with an alienware 3440x1400. I like it. Elite took to it with no hassle. Can't say the same of any other game (except age of wonders). Even makes the head tracking feel more natural.
