Elite / Frontier Elite on TV!

There's a Channel 5 series called "Brits Who Made The Modern World" airing each Friday evening in the UK at the moment, and one future episode is all about Elite :)

Just wondering if Mr B was interviewed for this?

It wasn't the first episode. According to DigiGuide it's not the next two episodes (27th June & 4th July) either so, as it's a six-part series, that leaves the 11th, 18th or 25th July.
Best to check each week though, as schedules can and do change...

I'll keep a eye on my Sky+ box.

Looking forward to seeing this.

Mmmm, Sky + :p
Actually we decided to go with Sky Multiroom and a DVD recorder so The Boss can watch stuff she's recorded upstairs if she wants, rather than tying up the big TV downstairs, which is mine :)

Man power eh?

I fitted a TV link to ours so we could watch upstairs as well.

Also would Michael or Stefan know when the episode is due to air? I would assume that C5 would let them know.

I don't have any information on it. I'll see if I can find out, though it might take a few days to track down the usual suspects and make sure that they talk.

Cheers Stefan :D

This is the only thing I have been able to dig up, which is information that I found on the post-production company's website.

The show airs on 5 at 7.30pm on the following dates...Episode 1: 20th June, Episode 2: 27th June, Episode 3: 4th July, Episode 4: 25th July, Episode 5: 15th August, Episode 6: 22nd August.

I haven't been able to ask David directly, but "word of mouth" is that he isn't sure either which episode that he will feature in. If I find something else out I will of course make a post about it in this thread.

Thanks smars. Maybe you could let David know that we'd really appreciate it if he could ask them to be more precise about what day it's on.

I'm hoping Ian Bell might be in it as well, though he generally keeps a low profile.

Hmm, I hadn't actually considered that...

Be interesting to see what he's upto nowadays.

If any one knows the name of the production company, you could mail them direct and ask if they'd stick it on youTube.
The production company is Raw TV and the post-production is Splice TV - though I doubt they have the rights to stick it on YouTube considering that Five has paid them some money for the TV-series.

Just checked DigiGuide again and the next episode in the series, to be broadcast on the 25th July, is all about the beginnings of a mobile phone system that would eventually become Vodafone.

So, still we wait... :(

I've checked DigiGuide again and the next episode, due to be broadcast on the 15th August, is about the Harrier jump jet.
This means the prog on Elite will be the last in the series and is currently scheduled to be shown on the 22nd August :)
