EDIT: The Viper wins!!! This one could take a bit longer than the Cobra and Sidewinder... I took a bunch of screenshots last night (Thank you CMDR Buck Wilds for posing) and the Viper has a lot more complexity to it.

That looks really good. Are you making the textures by hand? I took screenshots for the textures for the Sidewinder and Cobra and then just did a lot of Photoshop to make them useable. I've posted the source files for the Cobra if you are interested to see what they look like...

Let me know if you are planning to work on any other ships so that we don't overlap. It would be really cool to have an entire fleet :)

Right now it seems likely that I will be starting on the Viper next... I'm going to give the poll a bit more time but the Viper is currently in the lead.

Maybe once I have a few more under my belt... not sure I'd know how to make that one look right.

Definitely, I appreciate you putting the Sidewinder in the newsletter. It's been a lot of fun to see pictures of the ones that other people have put together.

I'd just like to say that these models are great. :)

Are the new ones going to be to scale? I recently invested in some thin card, and rebuilt the Cobra and the Sidewinder, using the correctly scaled Sidewinder - which is great, as scale is something that isn't always easy to determine in the game! If future ships are to scale too, that would be awesome! Even if I have to then get A3 card...

Mind you, I still haven't worked out how to get the Coriolis station to scale...

Cardboard box, haha! You could make the front of it, and hang it on the wall having the smaller ships fly inside it and around :p

Maybe, but my rough calculations seem to indicate that the front of the station would be at least 8m... Anyone got a large plotter? :)

Yes, I definitely want to make all future ships to scale. When I made the original Sidewinder I wasn't sure how the scale would work out but after making the Cobra I realized that I'd need to adjust it.

Really love the textures. Do you pick them from in game screenshots or rebuild them? Probably best models on the forums yet. Love to see more, I will craft some of these and fill my desk with docked ships lol

The textures are from screenshots. I just do a lot of Photoshop work to make them useable. Here are a couple of links if you are interested... (I haven't uploaded the Sidewinder source files yet but I will eventually.)
