Elite Ranks Progress

I'm clearly missing something. Elite is the highest rank?
Now there is Elite 1, through Elite V. I'm somewhere between 1 and 2 in Trade, but no idea how much.
lol, thx, I had missed that. And I'm not sure what I think about it. Seems rather pointless to me - when I finally achieve Elite combat, I'll be happy with that. There aren't really different levels of Elite...

Like you I was surprised when I read a post about it the other day, as I'd not noticed a refresh on rank grading in any release notes.
It's obviously borked from start, as with the 6 1/2 years of Exploration & Trading, I can't see why my progress isn't Elite V in both of them
Has there been any confirmation of this and how it's supposed to work?
Seems utterly pointless and I have zero interest in having to re-do them to achieve different grades of Elite.
I'm quite happy with the way it is/was: Trade was simple, Exploration took a bit longer but was the most enjoyable, Combat felt like an interminable journey but I got there in the end.

I'm not sure it is working - I have been doing some trading over the past few days and have noticed no change to my Elite trade rank - should have been at the very least partially along the way, if not completely into Elite I but the bar hasn't moved at all. Inara shows me at 100% Elite.
Not sure on the details. I ranked up to Elite I yesterday. I would screenshot it but it keeps saying Opps we ran into a problem.

They made it so that currently, even some average Players by now have
- far higher Trade Rank than even Op IDA hardcores who've easily traded 100x more
- far higher Exploration Rank than even Chiggy or Allitnil who have easily explored 100x more
- far higher Combat rank than hardened Conflict Zone experts or Bounty Hunting oldpros
It doesn't make any sense and should have properly accounted for previous activities to apply those new Ranks.
As it stands now, the new 1-5 Star Ranks are almost meaningless.

Exactly this. Still haven't got combat Elite, but was quite happy to work towards that one slowly. You can't get more elite than Elite, so in my view, any new ranks above are meaningless.
I gave up trying to figure out elite ranks . I'm triple elite and have been since 2018 . Why ? Is the question . They broke trade and exploration ranks with mining and pax so why not mess up everything else . I have no interest the "new "elite ranks .
