I've noticed something interesting while hunting very rare materials such as Pharmaceutical Isolators in my Imperial Cutter; while collecting the abundance of materials (just kidding), sometimes an Elite Type-10 Defender npc pirate drops in and insists on cargo. Naturally this demand is ignored and the pirate opens fire.
Upon it's inevitable destruction, the interesting thing happens. It drops very rare materials (sadly only one each) such as:
