I'm just wondering what happened to Artificial Intelligence (AI e.g. Skynet, HAL) in the Elite Universe?
i'm afraid about kind of AI like this :
door-monster-treasure with quest given by no-brain IA.
Kill Mr X , bring this to point B , protect this station , capture this pirat , follow this, earn 1000 $ and buy another thing...
I think that AI must have something close to human psychology... i mean :
- the fear to die
so the "need perception" of military safety,energy,foods,important strucutres...
- want to succeed : earn money, meet to reproduce , get higher in social hierarchy and become popular or respected person.
- cultural sphere : politic or religious believe, ethnies...
Something like Freud's theory , it is the origin of what our decisions are deeply influenced every day.
Why does war exist ? for getting limited ressource and so it gives reproduction advantage , and give more chance to give your genetic and culture spreading...
AI behaviour never seem to be like human being if they dont share our basis.
The question is : how design real AI ? Where to start safely ?
