***Oh wow I didn't' realize there was a sale right now, if the dev team comes out with a statement that they will support EDDB in some way, 100% and even improve it I will buy Odyssey asap.
As I'm sure many others have pointed out, Elite will surely completely die if all these third party tools go away. Odyssey was bad enough since it didn't actually add any real gameplay, like RPG elements for a true living world experience. I haven't even bothered to touch it.
But things like EDDB are required to play and enjoy the game at any player level, if Frontier fails to invest the relatively miniscule amount of time/effort to save it and integrate it and other tools like it for the capabilities and size of the dev team, Elite will have an even shorter shelf life at the rate it is going. Assuming we'd even be getting another expansion in the future.
