Elite won't load after update 4

I've heard for some that verifying files fixed their issues, as some found they were missing a gig of data. I've been getting the error and found only one file was missing. Lets me get past the loading screen... once, then i'm stuck in space and can't land anywhere without crashing.

EDIT: I verified the files on the launcher itself under "Options" and everything is functioning as normal. However, I can't get my HUD to change back to the colors I had set it to. Guess I'll have to wait a bit until the .xml fixes itself.

If you are on Steam - open Steam launcher, disable cache, then verify files. Worked for me. Don't verify using Steam. My Steam alt had lots of problems, solved this way. My Frontier main had no probs at all.

I guess the servers can't handle the load currently

UPDATE: You were right, fixing via launcher helped in my case, too.

Can confirm this worked for me. I validated via Steam first: no errors, but the game failed to load. Using the file validation via the Launcher took a few minutes, but once completed, the game then loaded as normal.
