EliteRCP - Still Functional?

Hey all.

While randomly looking for info on the SRV scanner I found this thread about a tool called EliteRCP which would turn anything w/ a web browser & touch interface into an extension of your cockpit controls.
This sounds AWESOME. However, when I try to run it, I get this error:
Code:
Unhandled Exception: System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.
   at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource)
at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add)
   at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Add(TKey key, TValue value)
   at EliteRCP.Program.LoadConfig()
   at EliteRCP.Program.Main(String[] args)
Now the thread I linked is the ONLY source of any information I can find. Does anyone still use this or have any clue what's wrong? I've updated the paths in the exe's config file so those I know are ok.
But at this point I'm stuck.

Is there something better out there now? Am I missing something & this tool still works fine?

Please let me know! Thanks!

Highly doubt this works any longer. If it relied on the cAPI at all, then it's dead, Jim. The API has been changed several times over the years, most recently with the 2.4 update (which incidentally broke several other 3rd party apps).

The thread you linked is 3 years old. The last reply in that thread from the developer is from 2015, and he hasn't been seen on the forums here in almost a year. I'd advise just dumping that app, as I honestly don't think it's going to work.

Try downloading Roccat Power Grid instead. There are several Elite Dangerous control schemes available for it, and it should work similarly to the app you linked.

i can´t see any reason why it shouldn't work. this does not look like it depends on the API. its essentially just a remote macro tool

It's possible something in the OS, browser updates, or even ED itself has changed enough to break it. Last time it was confirmed to be working was 1.2, over 2 1/2 years ago. At one point the author mentioned releasing the code for someone else to continue, but that doesn't appear to have ever happened.

As interesting as the app looks, unless someone with some really good coding skill can find a way to revitalize or replicate it, I think it's a dead end. :/

That sucks. Was a pretty damned cool looking tool. Would love to have had that open to drop my landing gear as I come into a station. Very immersive.
