as many of you are aware I've been busy this last month working of a new and improved version of the site.

I am pleased to announce that the first phase of the upgrade has been completed and elite stories now has a whole new look :)

for the time being there are only half a dozen pages accessible but rest assured many more are in the pipeline.

and, 10 points to the fist person to correctly guess the theme of the site.

I haven't started the fan section on the new site yet as i need to spend about a week doing research and collating everything into and easy to navigate section.

the legacy page still exists on the server though as i did a static render of it before i moved the new site over Link

as does the drabbles page: Link

there are a few minor things to fix then i'll be having a few days off the html before i continue, i should have an idea of the requirements of the fan section by the end of the week, faster if i can get some more help with the research.

I also need to gather profile info on the anthology and other writers as I'm giving everyone who is a contributing author to a canon work a page of their own, even if that contribution is writing 100-1000 words.

anyone spot the vanity exercise yet? :cool:

i'll put you top of the list but it may still be a week or so as i think i can do a lot better job on it this time.


and if anyone wants to help out with research/collating materiel please PM me either here or on the ES forums..

LOL...Actually I just installed IE10 for windows 7 and your site looks great..

Not keen on IE10 but it has so many compatibility issues I need to my websites look ok on it....

It does have a compatibility view button for older websites...So if it can do that why bloody bother altering it so it cant see older sites properly in the first place ??

it's a tough one i'll admit as i kind of like that style myself.

i think the only problem with it is that the banner uses an official ED image and with both the content that's pulled in and the area's it's pulled in from i didn't want to end up with a clash. so far i've been very sparing with the use of official images and only included those relevant to each section.

if you have a look at the right view imaging how it would look with the world/moon banner at the top with 'And Here the Wheel' underneath.

once i have the full site up and running I'll be adding themes to it so i can add a few options then, to give you a big hint of what they will be there are 3 more planned initially with further updates to follow once the game is released ;)

I did have an updated page in mind on Elite forever for the books which I put a demo page up and requested profiles...But to be honest nothing came back so I think it would be much more constructive to just add a link pointing to your site if that's ok ?

Yours is so much more informative on the subject and looks brilliant ;)

more than happy for you too, i'll be indexing and linking to all the fan-sites anyway to get the left view up and running so expect a few links pointed at the Kris Avery Page for that screen saver and your download page for the earlier games, no point each of us reinventing the (dark) wheel if we can just direct our users to somewhere that already has what they are after ;)
