CQC Elo system no need for ranks.

If the matchmaking is done using a elo system why do you have to unlock ships. Would it not be better to have everything open and that then makes a elo system fair.
As the CQC rating is in the main game it would make more sense to me that you use in game credits to purchase ships/equipment within the CQC.

The ranks are for increased credits earned, unlocking an ingame System, and allowing you to unlock a new icon next to your name in the main game. Personally I only use the stock Condor and ill most likely go all the way to the final prestige using that ship. I am using that ship quite well against good players, so its not like resetting your ranks is going to gimp you.
