ELW noises

The last few ELWs that I have come across have sometimes had some faint but distinct radio chatter in the background at various points, as well as what sounds like some Morse code snippets.

I don't recall hearing that before on an ELW, just the beautiful birdsong and gentle breezes!

Has anyone else heard this recently, or am I going a bit Space-mad? The noises are more noticeable when looking at the planet for some time, i.e when doing a probe bombardment for mapping.

I did go looking for patches of lights on the dark side of those ELWs, but couldn't find any - so if the creatures below have discovered radio, they clearly haven't yet worked out how to make the electricity used for it light up a filament or anything ;)

Wow, great resource! Thanks for the link :)

But yes, very definitely different. It is the same base, but there are sometimes the subtle radio and morse sounds that I described thrown in. It certainly caught my attention.

Hi Spaceman Si

Yes you are right. Went out of my way to check an ELW and there is a very subtle change to the sounds now played. Well spotted. I have posted elsewhere that I had come across a new passage of VERY spooky/atmospheric music that I had not come across in four years of very intensive play..... I know for sure that FDev have been slipping in some updates to the various sound tracks that DON'T make it to the change notes.... FDev Sound Engineers still remain at the very top of their game if you ask me.... which you didn't ..lol

FDev leaves a lot out of the patch notes, especially recently. They're not comprehensive, but rather things they just want us to be directly aware of.

Thanks for the confirmation!

There are a number of places where the soundscape has changed subtly or not-so in some cases, and it's really nice to just come across them as they happen. The exploration music was updated / added to, I'm pretty sure of that - I think that is where your new passage of spooky music came in :)

I'm with you on the sound engineers. Regardless of whatever else I may or may not like about the game in certain areas, the sound is uniformly excellent and appropriate for when it occurs. They really do have some very talented and dedicated sound and music guys on the team!

You mean like the planet populated by retiring members of the Pilots Federation... i.e. Shinrata Dezhra... coz if you look... there are NO lights on the night side of the planet..... I think when they say old pilots can retire to the planet... they mean ''retire!''.... as in permanent retirement... no need for lights eh?

I hadn't actually noticed that! I'll take a look next time I'm there.

You're probably right, it is nothing more than an enormous cemetery down there :D
