My long slow circumnavigation, taking a Cobra right around the edge following each arm as far as I can, continues.

2 down, 2 go.

As I tracked back up the inside of the Scutum Centaurus arm looking to see how far back north I'd need to go to forge a way across to the Outer Arm I met up with the ELW hunter beyond compare, CMDR Chiggy Vonrictofen.

Over a couple of sessions I increased my total earth like haul for the trip for far from 53 to 59 - it's amazing how many more you find when you hunt methodically.

Despite us both being nearly 60kly from Sol when we parted company late on Saturday, Chiggy is already nearly halfway back to the bubble to turn them in and see if we got the whole wing thing right and have got shared tags (I think both names appear once either hands in the data). I'm still looking for a north east passage that a Cobra can make with out going too much farther north or east.

I did also meet up with Chiggy on the far side of The Abyss as I travelled from the farthest I could get down Sag-Car to Roncevaux - I think this means that he is now committed to meeting me near the end of both the Outer and Perseus arms, just for the sake of completeness...

WRT Cobra jump range, I'm out and about at the moment in a slightly tweaked (class 5 FSD mod, but not a very good one) and heavily equipped Cobra that's pushing over 30ly. Times are a-changing.

To be on the safe side, you might want to both be online and winged up when either of you turn in the data. If that's not feasible, then I'd recommend just turning in one system first, to see if the shared tags do appear. Last time I heard (granted, that was maybe half a year ago?), the system can be finicky with this.

If I don't end up going so far north and east that it's just obvious I'll let you know. I am in a stock Mk III - no mods, no jumponium so whether anyone else will ever be daft enough to try this kind of thing again without significantly more range is an open question...

Thanks. Routes are more helpful to people with low to mid jump range (mid up to 35ly now), than to people like me with 45ly full tank :D

Not just the ELW's, but everything we scanned while winged up in the same system, it looks like so far...even though at the time, we thought we were having "technical difficulties"

In fact, while preparing them to turn into the ELW thread, I just noticed that i got my name on an ammonia world that I never scanned, and pretty sure I never got within 2000 ls of.....
