Emergency power?

When the ship is damaged, the main thing that happens is that modules are damaged. But wouldn't wires, parts and hull be damaged too? Wires would be cut by beams or splayed by multi cannons. If the hull dips below 30%, the main power from the reactor would be leaking or not being used because power lines to the cockpit wouldn't be working. At this point, a backup power source in the cockpit should be activated. This shouldn't increase power output to the modules, only to the cockpit. When the hull goes below 30% the HUD lights should flicker and die after a few seconds. Another few seconds and the generator should fire up, powering the HUD again. The HUD, at this point, should flicker and be much darker, and the cockpit lighting should turn red as a "emergency power" feature. The ship AI should say "Warning. Emergency power active.". You will then have 30 minutes of emergency power before the HUD begins to fail. The only thing that will then work is Navigation and your cockpit glass "waypoint" to get repairs.

In my opinion, this would help immersion and encourage players to keep a repair module in their ship.

What so you guys think?
