Emperor's Wedding - Where's my invite?

I remembered this evening that the Emperor is getting married tomorrow on Capitol (Achenar System for you non-Empire commanders).

Being a high ranking Imperial Officer I wanted to make sure I was there, even if they haven't sent me a personal invite!

Problem is I'm still 3,800ly away! Probably kill me and my ship... but going for the quickest long distance journey I've ever done! New Mission...

Achenar for Breakfast

If the Imp rank system is like the Federal one you are not in the actual military structure of the Imps. You are instead in the auxiliary, which means they are going to use and abuse you with out much thought otherwise. If its different let me know I haven't bothered ranking up with them.

What time is the wedding? I may not have gotten an invitation either (odd, since I am a KING [what comes next?]) Anyway, even if I was snubbed on the invite to the ceremony, maybe I can still show up to the reception? I'll drink and dance to the Imperial Couple.

Plot twist: The emperor gets assassinated.

GASP! HERESY!

sounds about right unfortunately. it would further justify this PP nonsense as to why the empire would be in-fighting (even if covertly)

edit: no doubt someone is going to be painted the mastermind (bets on Patreus seems like the easiest scapegoat/patsy if not the anime princess)

Not like that at all... The Duval Family and I go back a long way, I used to do special missions for Hengist in the ol'days. And my Grandfather was with Marlin Duval, during the colonization period.

They probably just forgot to post my invite... Recovering from illness and wedding nerves...

About damn time instead of having the powers gank up upon others even while having direct ethos differences.

If it's an empire, then it should go through the test of someone uniting it under one directive first. Or collapse while on that way.

"imperial slaves sell good" is not enough a reason to drive a story.

If it happens after the ceremony it doesn't matter, the succession is clear. If it happens before , well things get very interesting in the Empire. Anyway I'm not to fussed at missing the wedding. If we manage to stop the plague then the partying on Bast will be epic and much more fun than a formal Imperial soiree, and if we don't, then it's back to hauling meds or tea or whatever else we think might give a chance of a cure.

Time for some secret maneuver...

*Chuckles*

Sorry couldn't resist @-@

Are you guys going to cause trouble? You would earn some of my respect that way.

But you still can't have Leesti, sorry.

Anywhere else other than empire space. We can't expect them to care anymore. They'd rather have their people die as long as they can keep on hauling slaves for profit.

caught me red-handed. :D
so long as I can keep shuffling indentured servants for credits I could care less about the politics

Excuse me for not knowing ( I guess I should, since I'm a "Prince" lol ) but where "EXACTLY" is this wedding? They mention "Capital" City and "Fragrant" City but these are no where to be found... Achenar has a few stations but not matching those descriptions.

Hehe, let's be clear here.

You might indeed be a high-ranking imperial official.

The fact remains that the empire comprises hundreds of worlds, an unguessable number of human beings probably northward of a trillion individuals, and there are a LOT of mid-level nobility. That would be one hell of a crowded wedding if all that was required to be invited was a certain rank.
