Empire capital ship ? or what ?

Hey everyone.

this thread is just to try to satisfy my curiosity about one capital ship recently seen in the devdiary videos.

if the Empire capital ship is this one:

what is this capital ship seen in the early winter dev diary ?

possible answer:

1 - the first (now abandoned) concept design of the Empire capital ship ?

2 - or is just a modified version of the Empire capital ship ?

and..

There will be a chance to see this last one in game ?

since i love it so much and it would be a pity to see such beautiful design wasted.

The designs look too similar to be different ships, so I'd say that the second picture is artwork and the first is in-game with a modified design. I'm with you though, I'd love to see the early design ship realised more closely.

I think they're two concepts of the same ship. There's the very pretty initial conception, and the more practical and sensible version which will be closer to what we see in game.

Those are both the Imperial Cruiser. The bottom image is the concept art, the top is probably an in-engine render of the 3d model.

I agree the top is the same ship just a more recent iteration of the design.

It looks like this image is taken from underneath while the older art work is taken from above. There is a little more streamlining of the lower front quarters but the ring section and flared brackets at the back still seem to be present.

Yes the first picture will probably in the game. It is beautiful and fantastic.
The second image is probably the first draft. It is beautiful. But I prefer the first image. We must imagine viewed from above with the planet in the background

And what if... one of those two picture is a super emperor capital ship (like the one in star wars for example.. the executor) ?
