empire for ships or federation for morals

so. Im my original plan was to stick to the federation. Im not to far in ranking, i can still change without losing alot of progress. But i saw the empire ships and omg. The only federation ship i want is the corvette, but then all 3 of the empire ships look incredible... But i dont like their... Outlook on life. I dont wanna work for a faction that allows slaves. Do you guys think its worth it to join empire just for ships or should i stick with the federation. Drawbacks off federation is i wont get one of their ships til i can get the corvette... Plus side of empire is i want all 3 navy ships...

I should add that im mostly a trader. Ill probably do a lil combat later but even then. Im gonna be a master trader. Dunno what ships are built for what in these two factions.

You can do both.

Just make whatever character lore reason you want, (war spoils, infiltration job, whatever really) you can be high rank in both factions.

So you can play as a federation pilot in a empire ship or the other way around, nothing in the game is currently decentivizing it.

There's certainly a pantload of Imperial pilots flying around in Fed hardware... I wonder why that is?

Dont be afraid. Empire is just honest with themselves. Federation pretends to have morals whilst allowing slaves and the 1% to run the galaxy

Imperial Slaves, not regular slaves. They're like indentured servants. I actually think it's kind of nice of the Empire to do such a thing.

The Imperial Cutter is the best trade ship in the game, easily clearing over 720t of cargo with shields.

The Federation is corrupt and diseased. The Empire was formed in opposition to oppressive Federation rule. Come to the Empire, we have cool ships

Im almost tempted. I was joining federation cause im currupt and a money maker. But im starting to feel their grip and feel the need to opose them whilst getting cool ships. Look im writing my own lore. Lol. Idk what to do. I dont wanna do both tho

Now if we're talking about the foundations of our respective governments lets not omit the little, but all too important details about the sentient alien species we've obliterated in the name of opposition to an oppressive rule...I mean, I'd think any kind of genocide/xenocide would be the most oppressive thing you could do but, maybe I'm wrong.

Lol i wish decisions werent so difficult. Im gonna dread on this all day at work. I finally got myself to rhea to where i was gonna really start working on fed rep. Random question. What do empire ships excel in. It looks like fed ships are good for cargo and considering their feds and trade i assume their ment for that.

Fed ships are best for combat. Imperial ships are pretty and can be used for just about whatever, with less combat viability than fed counterparts.
