Empire Naval Ascension Opportunity bugged?

I've just started to do Empire missions after spending most of my time in Fed space.

Did a few cargo missions then got a Naval Ascension Opportunity mission, completed it and ranked up to Outsider. Did a few more cargo missions then another Naval Ascension Opportunity was available. completed it but didn't rank up to Serf.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it common meaning it could take ages to get to Baron to try out the Clipper?

Not sure raising a ticket would be worth it as I've had a ticket in since early Jan for another issue and it hasn't been answered as yet.

Do two mission's then get all the goodies?

It takes time to earn the rep and get new missions, working as expected, if you ask me.

Were they the same type of mission (smuggling)? There's a bug where you can sometimes still see the PREVIOUS rank's mission as available shortly after you hit that rank; it doesn't immediately remove them from bulletin boards nor will it cancel any duplicate missions you might have.

You can't do two "outsider" missions to get to Serf. The missions don't add a rank, they set your rank TO the particular rank that the mission is for. It actually means you can rank down, if you take, say, two missions for Squire rank, do one, find a Knight rank mission and do it, then complete the other Squire rank, you fall back to Squire.


The rank and the mission types to gain each are as follows:

Outsider - Smuggling mission (personal weapons, etc.)
Serf - Fetch mission (grain, etc.)
Master - Courier mission
Squire - Assassination mission (imperial clipper)
Knight - Combat mission (pirates)
Lord - Smuggling mission (personal weapons, etc.)
Baron - Fetch mission (grain, etc.)
Viscount - Courier mission
Count - Assassination mission (imperial clipper)
Earl - Combat mission (pirates)

I have a ticket open on this subject. You essentially just did the same mission twice.

What should happen is that as soon as you complete the 1st mission all instances of it are removed from bulletin boards. However due to the slow refresh of the BB you often see the same mission advertised.

Cheers guys, it was the same mission (fetch personal weapons, 3 this time before it was 5) but it was posted about 40 minutes after I did some other normal fetch mission for the station faction.

A also killed 2 generals taking two missions at the same time(the first to become Squire and the other for no apparent reason..) and 2 Combat missions (the first to become Knight and the second also for nothing) although I had taken the second mission after I completed the first!

I cant say I was not dissapointed that I didnt take the Lord rank after waiting in the middle of nowhere for more than an hour waiting for USSs .....
