Empire rank missions bugged ?

It seems that there is something wrong with the rank missions for Empire. I was a Serf and I got the mission from to deliver a message somewhere. I delivered the mission and I got the rank of Master. So far, so good.

After couple of normal missions, I got another Naval mission - kill some General in Aparctias system. I did the misson, killed the General and suddenly, I am back to Serf rank.

Are the misssions bugged or I do something wrong ?

im at count there are no bugs except the permit missions

I got to Earl yesterday, no issues encountered.

Maybe you killed the wrong general and got demoted

Hmm, it was some strange bug. I did another Naval rank mission and I am Knight now. It seems that just a display rank was wrong.
