Empire Rank Progression working for anyone yet?

Ok, sorry to resurrect this thread, but the rank progression system has been extended in the beta for 1.3

We now have at least Marquis after Earl, and I can confirm that it works, as I'm now Marquis in the beta

I made Post Commander in FED space and EARL in Empire space. If you want the rank assignments then you need to take the courier type and cargo delivery type mission from the BB and increase your rep that way.

You will be better off in a small or medium ship because many missions ask you to land on an outpost.

i did 50 missions so far for empire factions, and i still don't have any promotion mission, it's starting to get very long

i don't have any rank yet with the empire but i wonder if my account is bugged

Works a little too good I think; went to sleep as Rear Admiral & Duke, woke up as Vice Admiral & Prince. Now after a couple of progression missions, I'm Admiral & King and I haven't been any where near Empire space....

But hey if King will get me a date with Aisling who am I to complain? Oh, yes, wait, I'm the King.

Finteno & 10 Kappa Pegasi.

Not sure it is system specific, ranking up your rep for the local factions in a system, changing from Neutral -> Friendly -> Allied will help trigger the progression missions. There's a couple of excellent posts going into the details about progressions.

That has changed. The Earl mission is now (1.3) offered in a variety of flavors from smuggling something illegal to killing either a traitor or just some pirates.

I am Count and completed the "Earl" mission 5 times over yesterday (mission text specifically says 'Earl', so its not one of those duplicates from the last rank you sometimes get).

Each time I turned it in, I did not receive my "Earl" rank.

Filed a support ticket now, as 5 times is getting quite tedious, besides, the expectation that it might work next time kinda evaporates.

I have the exact same problem with the Feds.

I cleared my save just after the 1.3 release. On my previous save, I was Lieutenant in the Federation.

On my new commander, I'm already Competent, and Allied with the Federation. I've been raking up the kills in assassination missions, kill pirate missions (even though the rewards are bugged), and I gave money to local factions at least 25 - 30 times.

I never saw ONE eff-ing rank opportunity mission. Not one.

I did read a lot of stuff about progression (Yokai's among good ones), I know how it works. The thing is today I did about 100 missions for minor factions in Empire systems and nothing?!?
I know - Gods of random and all, but... nothing?! Grrrr!
FD isn't the time for some patch for all those bugs? Or we ought to play this beta for the next week?

Having suffered the same, I went looking for my first ever Empire rank.

After a few missions, my rep with the local Empire people goes up and I see a rank progression mission in the bulletin board - success, outsider here I come!

I look and I need to be allied and dangerous - of which I am neither...this doesn't sound like the smuggler mission I was expecting.

I've been trying to get the 'baron' rank mission for several months now (when I've been playing, I last made a really big effort to get it when the discount was available for the Clipper). I'm allied everywhere, done tonnes of missions all to no avail. I'm at a bit of a loss with what to try next.

I'm in exactly the same boat - allied everywhere, Knight in Empire, trying from quite some time and desperately in need of Clipper.

It's some utter crap.

they should have maid these ranking mission to always appear if we have the necessary reputation, at every stations/outposts of this faction

Having the same problem. 5 or 6 Ascension missions and still stuck at "Outsider" :-( Thought it was me doing something wrong.

well i have np with the ranking, after i got horizon (last week) i searched the net and found a good way to rank imp/fed pretty fast
After i saw it i bought my self a fluying gastank and allready @ viscount.
Just finished a run from Fehu and was @ 4% viscount when i started and when i delivered everything (no cargo, duhhh) im now @ 20% just from 1 run (9 delivery missions).
