I'm currently grinding empire ranks in fehu system. I've gotten the level to 100 percent earl but the mission boards won't give a rank up mission. Does anyone know if this is a bug or maybe its another undocumented feature? lol!

They aren't necessarily named how I've heard they're supposed to be named. I don't know if it's changed or it just varies, but the one I did was something like "Imperial navy strike mission" (I don't recall exactly). It didn't have the words rank or ascension.

Haven't had that issue with Empire but did encounter it with Feds. I forgot about it for a long long time then finally landed at a station where I had good rep in Fed space, and quickly ranked up 4 ranks over a very short time. Same may be happening for you. I would suggest traveling around in Empire space and trying different factions/stations till it spawns.

If you've been grinding there, assume you are allied with one or more Empire factions? If so, best to stay there unless you are allied elsewhere. Make sure you have ample cargo space (64 or so) because some of the Navy rankup missions are delivery or smuggling.
