Empire ranking up

Hi

I'm trying to improve my Imperial ranking - I'm allied with four factions in my local system, and have been carrying out endless combat missions, but recently I've noticed the rate of ranking progress has really stalled. Is it a mistake to concentrate on one type of mission? Should I be doing other stuff too?

Thanks,

Ackoman

Doesnt matter what mission you do.
Only the rep gained (pick missions with 5+ rep and always get the rep reward) and the number of missions you complete

Not sure how many combat missions can you stack, but i usually level by stacking supply/delivery missions along with fetch missions (pick up art/black-boxes/etc) and whatever courier missions there may be

That's inevitable.

Fundamentally, as you gain higher ranks you have to do more and more to progress further.

It might only take, say, 3 "++rep" missions to progress from Serf to Master but it'll take 10 similar "++rep" missions to progress from Lord to Baron and by the time you're trying to progress from Marquis to Duke (so you can get your sticky fingers on that sexy Cutter) it'll be taking something like a hundred "++rep" missions.

Good on ya for actually actually working for the rank progress rather than just grinding a gazillion mail-delivery missions in Ngalinn. (y)

If you're taking "+++++rep" missions (and accepting the reputation rewards, rather than mat's or credits) you should continue to see your superpower rep, with the Empire, increase noticeably after each mission but the rate of progress will slow down due to the increased requirements.

The quickest way to quickly grind Imperial Rank is to go to a pair of systems outside The Bubble. Ngalinn and Mainani. They each have one small outpost and that’s it. Almost every faction is an Imperial Faction. Each mission in Ngalinn goes to Mainani, and many missions in Mainani go to Ngalinn. There’s a lot of Courier missions which, while not particularly useful for getting rank, when you do anywhere between 10-20 of them every 6 or so minutes, it adds up very quickly. So head to those system in a Small ship, and just do Courier runs for a couple hours, your rank will go up very quickly.

So I'm at marquis + 60% now, am I almost to duke yet?
Looks that way yep:

Once you've done the rank up mission for Duke you'll be able to buy the Cutter :)

Like all the ranks in ED, the progress is not linear. You need to complete about 10 times as many missions for the later ranks compared with the early ones.

If you want to rank-up quickly, go to a burning station and do the rescue/salvage missions, where you can do about 100 missions an hour.

Yep OP do this next time... But for now you can't as all stations are now in repair phase...
As the war has paused as the thargoids were made to run away...
