Empire Ranks- How to get started?

Hey bros,

I actually don't get this: How can I start gaining ranks for the Empire? How to find the first so- designated mission? I am already allied with Empire through long bounty hunting but still have no clue how to get started with those ranks and finding those kind of missions.

Go to empire space, pick an orbital that sounds like a nice place to hang out, and do a bunch of the bulletin board quests for the local factions. After a while you'll get offered an advancement quest. When you've done that, go to a different empire system and curry favor there. Keep doing that. You want to spread the love around a couple factions in the same area. If you do 10-20 missions in a given orbital in a day it ought to drop them pretty quick. You can only do one advancement quest at a time, so finish them and turn them in.

Pick a system and become familiar with the empire aligned factions. Start doing the data courier and cargo transport missions for them. Also if they need a little of this, a bit of that(usually beer or some other thing). When you see a "end corporate slave culture today!" Mission take it, these have a time limit of 6 days. Once you rack up a few just turn them in at once (2 slaves per). Once you're allied with the minor empire factions, move on to a different system and repeat the process. Eventually you'll get "naval progression" missions, either from an "imperial security officer" or someone else. After you complete the naval progression and turn it in, you'll gain a rank. Rinse and repeat.


If more more than one naval progression mission pops up, don't take the multiples. Pick one. The others won't actually count.

I am trying to get to Baron so I can take advantage of the cheap Clipper. After the last CG bounty hunting, I am now Allied with the empire, so every imperial system I go to now, I am allied with. So I hope that I will still be able to do the missions and climb the rank ladder to Baron

I am a Baron. I keep doing missions when not out exploring and my rep is still increasing. Select the minor factions with whom you have a lower rep, even though you are still allied the missions should still pop up.

Bounty hunt for a few hours then run around 5 missions for empire factions. Focus on message delivery and donation missions if you don't get one bounty hunt some more then repeat.
dont bother with the other missions they can either cause more harm than good or anger a competing minor empire faction that was competing with the major one.
same goes for weapon donation missions.
Spread the love around as others have said.
when you turn in a mission there will be a completion bar if that is not full keep going or stop around 3/4+ and move to another system.

Ok, just got my answer. Its all good just got my next naval ascension mission!!

I got my start by accident - blasting the shiznit out of an opposing faction in a RES in an Empire-controlled system for a few days did the trick. Got the first ascension mission, and it was pretty much a straight shot from there to my current rank (Knight).

I look for systems with lots of stations within 1000ls range and lots of different empire aligned subfactions. Then i load up with 30+ nonlethal weapons and 20 of each food/legal drugs and only do all the trading/donating goods missions. While doing that i take every empire deliver/donate slaves mission i can get. You have about 6 days to complete them, and every now and then i load up with 50 slaves and deliver them in one run.

I dont take any assasination/kill or black box/rebel transmission etc missions (unless needed for rank advancement), as they take too long and due to the heaps of open slave-delivery missions most uss will have an npc in them telling you to deliver the slaves to somwhere else.
