Empire Ships = Clipper..etc - Federation Ships = Drop Ship etc - Independent = Python etc - But Alliance Ships ??!?

Empire Ships = Clipper..etc - Federation Ships = Drop Ship etc - Independent = Python etc - But Alliance Ships ??!?

I finally figured it out !!!
And FD does not have to invent any newer ships either......not as far as the Elite Universe is concerned.
Just give them a NEW and Upgraded KRAIT and/or MAMBA.
Not only were they awesome ships ... but we badly needed them in Elite Universe and sorely miss them.
And a BOA Cargo Carrier.....and a Moray Star Boat .......

Case CLosed !!

I want to make an off topic comment here, hope you don't mind.

What is the fascination of some people with repeated punctuation marks? Do they think it makes their posts more visible, or is it for somehow to strengthen the message?

Oh!!11!?,&% it's happening to me too!!"2'')()}$#--\| what HAPPEN????!!!?!??!?!

not really sure what you mean, all ships are made by corporations, only some corporations are contractors for government bodies. For example saud kruger could do some contracts for alliance council, even so, The alliance is the epitome of democracy being that it is a conglomerate of small communities (relatively speaking) that operate independantly with the only bonding between them being the promise of trade, culture and military protection by everyone's interest chipping into a common interest of defense.

Faulcon DeLacy's headquarters are based in Reorte, so not exactly independent. It's just that they are available to everyone like the Vulture is for Core Dynamics.

We still don't have the exclusives we deserve though, from the shipyards in Alioth. Heck, they haven't even been mentioned yet.

And if the Boa is one of our exclusives, I'd excuse FD on a lot of things. :D

The KRAIT used to be the MOST recognizable ship in the original ELITE.
If the Alliance developed it and modernized it, if would be a powerful symbol.

This has been suggested a good number of times.

Unfortunately FD have confirmed Alliance ranks and Alliance ships will not be in there development plans for some time. I suspect until at least season 3 (by which time I will have given up waiting for balance and be playing Squadron 42/SC anyway).

I guess until then we will need to find out fun with the zero damage Mahon cooking lasers.

As Saool said. Although I have a nagging thought that keeps poking my head saying that the Alliance will get a re-vamp when Thargoids come.. With all that could imply I'm happy waiting...

aww, how cute - you actually think SC will be playable by the end of next year.

I'll stick with ED, it may be missing a few bits and need some polish in places, but at least it is an actual game I can play and enjoy.

Welcome to the Interwebs!!!???

We keep telling you, the Alliance are "Independents" - just slightly more organized, sacrificing a little of that independence in the name of common defence. "Alliance ships" are Independent ships. They haven't been in existence long enough to carve out a separate and distinctive "look" of their own yet.

Yes, AAAI and their hyper-modern ships should be a part of that Independent fleet - but they'd be available to all Independents (and anyone else with the money to buy one), not just the Alliance. I doubt we'll ever see faction-locked Alliance-only ships. Faction-locking goes against the whole spirit of the Alliance, standing up against the Two Superpowers with their "Ooh, look at us, we fly our own special ships, and we won't let you buy one no matter how much you beg" attitude.

Faction locked or not, hopefully we'll see some ships come out of the AAAI shipyards. Saker Mk V perhaps?

A clear case of 'ship' envy :D

this is exactly what it is
+rep for you sir

some people simply don't understand what Alliance is and constantly demanding for it to be just like Federation or Empire.
it is not, it's not suppose to be, it's different, why do you people hate the Alliance so much - it is an Alliance of independent worlds, there can't be permanent fleet and command, any company that would make ships in Alliance space by definition would sell them to everybody.

also - forum rules, circular threads

Right now I get kicked from the server every 5 to 10 minuets. There is more game to play in Arena Commander than ED at the moment.

I actually thought lots of CMDRs where anxiously waiting to fly a Speedy Mamba or a sexy KRAIT. Who cares which faction actually ends up building it ?
Personally at this stage I do not care if ONLY Pirate factions adopt them and build them out of spare parts.

The Alliance is rather neglected by FD.
ED Wiki said:
The Alliance does not contain ranks, instead featuring a complex permit scheme that restricts commanders' travel to Alliance systems.

Yet there is only one system with an Alliance permit - Alioth. Not very complex that.
