Empire Ships = Clipper..etc - Federation Ships = Drop Ship etc - Independent = Python etc - But Alliance Ships ??!?

I want to make an off topic comment here, hope you don't mind.

What is the fascination of some people with repeated punctuation marks? Do they think it makes their posts more visible, or is it for somehow to strengthen the message?

Oh!!11!?,&% it's happening to me too!!"2'')()}$#--\| what HAPPEN????!!!?!??!?!

this is exactly what it is
+rep for you sir

some people simply don't understand what Alliance is and constantly demanding for it to be just like Federation or Empire.
it is not, it's not suppose to be, it's different, why do you people hate the Alliance so much - it is an Alliance of independent worlds, there can't be permanent fleet and command, any company that would make ships in Alliance space by definition would sell them to everybody.

also - forum rules, circular threads

I'd argue that many people in this conversation understand what the Alliance is much more than random "it shouldn't be like the Federation or the Empire" comments. Heck, we still have people asking why the Alliance allows dictatorships to be part of them.

Because noone asked for it to be like the Federation or the Empire. We do have a naval structure and we have the best shipyards in the Galaxy in our home-system. It is perfectly within the Alliance's capabilities to initiate production of ships for sale only towards its respective member systems, since those ships trickle down to its actual navy as well thanks to how the naval structure works. And it also makes sense that a unified front would want its systems to be properly defended and patrolled, instead of using ships from 2800.

Alliance = Independents, how many times do we need to go over this before people understand? It's part of the lore, read it.

So what?

That's not an argument, that's a fallacy.

We do have a navy. We do have shipyards able to do it. We do have everything required to build our own ships. Heck, we have even done so in the previous games according to the lore.

Are you implying that independents are incapable of getting the resources to do it?

Because, let's not forget that the Alliance currently has resources from even outside its own borders. 2 whole months of being #1 in PP attests to that. The Alliance is the richest faction as things currently stand.

My take on this:

What, if the "negligence" of the Alliance isn't due to FD's "laziness", malice or simply hate towards this faction?
What, if FD has something planned with the Alliance that simply isn't implemented in the game so far?
THARGOIDS, anybody?

We already have many, many ships in the game - and new ships are still on the list and known (Panther Clipper, Beluga Liner), others may be planned.
How many more are reasonable?
What, if ranking in the Alliance wouldn't affect ship accessibility at all, but rank-restricted modules (or weapons) instead?

Remember, the Alliance has a good standing with the Thargoids according to the Elite lore. Is it unthinkable, that - once those aliens are implemented in the game, the Alliance will rise to a never known importance? That it will have access to some exotic (non-human) technology? And granting this technology only to reliable commanders in their military?

TL; DR : new ships are nice and good, but rank-restricted ships are simply "more of the same". Who wants this? Why not introduce rank-restricted modules/weapons instead and enjoy a more varied game experience?

Right now I get kicked from the server every 5 to 10 minuets. There is more game to play in Arena Commander than ED at the moment.

Odd, I'm based at ALD HQ and I'm fine, though I've seen a few are getting kicked a lot.
Have you tried playing in Solo / private groups (small groups) ?

(I rarely play open and spend most of my time in small private groups with friends)
