Empire station accent?

Weird question, I know.

There's a couple of station-announcement voices in Empire space; can anyone identify the accents?

One is a very international Japanese, I think - but what's the other, darker, more contralto one with kind of a twist/catch to it?

I vaguely know a couple of people with similar accents, but not well enough to ask them, and it's bugging me now.

Failing that, does anyone know the name of the voice actor?

The female voice? I think its the same person in all Empire stations? Anyway I'd say German accent, she sounds exactly like my Doctor!

I always thought the male voice at Alliance stations was sarth efrican, straight out of District 9.

I'm talking about the female Empire voice, though. I was assuming Asia-somewhere, but I can't place it.

Imperial - "We sank Commanders for not blocking ze haccess corridor."
Also, I'm pretty sure one of the male announcers in Fed stations is FDev producer Adam Woods :)

I always thought both voices sounded anglo-indian and somewhat musical.

I always pictured the empire like Czarist Russia.

Actually according to original Elite 2 Frontiers lore Imperial accent are supposed to sounded something like America Deep South account or Aussie account from the following description

The accent of the Empire has evolved out of Achenarians trying to mock the standard Federation diction by accentuating certain vowels. To the foreigner their speech sounds rather like a whine.

Those 2 accents are the only English accent that I can think off that accentuates vowels unique from standard English

Nah ... As an Anglo Indian I can say I don't hear that. Plus the Anglo Indian accent is very diverse. Anglo Indians only speak English but with a huge variety of accents due to the number of cultural influences. My family has Indian, Portuguese British and Spanish names in its past (that I know of) . And when I say Indian I mean pre break up in to India and Pakistan... My nan and grandad have differerent accents because my nan is from southern India whereas my grandad is from the north (what is now Pakistan) the Anglo Indian accents are too diverse to be generalised I think

Ha ha! Wonder why?
But Dutch has Germanic roots (like so many European languages)

It evolved from the Dutch vernacular of South Holland spoken by the mainly Dutch settlers of what is now South Africa, where it gradually began to develop distinguishing characteristics in the course of the 18th century.

None of the accents from the American South sound like a whine. That weirdly nasal midwestern accent, maybe. And if they developed the accent to mock the "standard Federation" accent, then it likely shouldn't sound like anything we specifically have now. Every time I've read that bit, I've always assumed that the Achenarian accent sounds like the Monty Python French accent from Holy Grail.

I hear 2 main accents in Empire space.
An oriental accent, mainly Chinese but could just as easily be Japanese.
A definite east European accent. Possibly Russia or Ukraine.

If it was the between Scouse or Manc then it would be really easy for me to tell the difference. Or Geordie and Yorkshire. Neighbouring areas within Britain that have distinct regional accents.
Outside the country though? It's much harder for me. My ear for foreign accents isn't that good.

The other distinctively-accented voice is from a Frontier Developments staff. She's Malaysian or perhaps Indonesian in origin, I think, but works for Frontier in UK. Her name is in the credits but I can't recall it now.

I know because I'm Singaporean and my Singapore/Malaysia groupmates from the region had a good laugh when we first heard her voice in the game. It's 100% from our part of the world (Singapore/Malaysia-accented English).
