Empty Void Opal Hotspots

You are either having bad luck, not IDing the proper asteroids or others have been through where you've been and depleted it for the time being.
I thought I read it was like six days or something for hotspots to replenish but I dunno. Like I said, it could also just be bad luck on your part.Don't they replenish after some time? I'm really a few hops out of the bubble. I hardly think a lot people hang out here
Well i was luckier this afternoon... But its really funny you approch a hot spot.. boom you could find 4 rocks worth blowing in no time... you leave the location and reenter the same hotspot 15 minutes later and you find noting anymore.. no matter how hard you look. Maybe has also to do in which instance of the server you drop on maybe?
Asteroids have the same contents and % of what's left in every instance, and it syncs.
For the op, try using eddb.io. enter the data, and it will show what's nearby that you are looking for
I was working a void opal hotspot last night. Two hours searching the ring from the hotspot center towards the planet and found nothing. Shifted to searching the ring from the hotspot center away from the planet and had 128 opals in the cargo hold within an hour.
The rings are depleted as they are mined. If you’re not having any luck, move to a different part of the hotspot. I’m not sure how often they replenish, but I’ve been working this particular ring off and on for the last two weeks and pulled in over a billion credits. It has two void opal hotspots and I alternate between them each mining session.

If you see the ‘clouds’ that are left by exploding asteroids but no asteroids themselves, move on; someone else has beaten you to it. Asteroids persist across instances and its perfectly possible for two commanders in separate instances— be they open, pg, or solo — to be hunting the same area at the same time.

Including the contents of the core rocks you DO find (within the confines of what's available for "Rocky", "Icy", etc. rings)...
I went looking for Void Opals and found 81 tons of Grandidierite, does that count?
What you should have done was drop into a Granditerite hotspot and gotten 81 tons of Void Opals instead
(I actually did something close to that the last time I went core mining, in an Alexanderite hotspot. Got more VOs than Alexanderite...)
