Empyrion - contender for Elite?

okay, I thought what the hell and picked this up last night.

Very happy I did, its amazing fun and imo far FAR easier to get into than Space Engineers (which will now collect dust on my steam shelves)
I'm really enjoying this game and I think it will easily keep me busy until the 2.1 beta.

Yes is it good, Alpha 1.0 is stable as where the Pre's for me A Stable game & gaming is important AND FDEV , should be proud that ED , worked out of the BOX , for PC unlike BF4 BF3 ,yes 3 & then 4 !..

I have been playing the Alpha now, got a server with some peeps, it is good, addictive, it's pretty much Space Engineers, but replace the Engineering with Survival.

Just bought this on sale for $10 bucks, why not? Looks interesting, and I'm getting bored of ED and could use a break (not quitting-still like it).

I love Empyrion, one of the funnest games I've played all year. The best part is that the devs actually listen to and ask the community about what they want and release updates often and regularly. I see a ton of potential in it and the fact it was only $10 makes it a fantastic deal.
It's already a lot of fun and it's only in alpha.

I decided to give it another try - it's been about about a year or so since I played it last. Although I genuinely hated the game last year, it is in early access so maybe it has improved? Maybe?

Well, my new thoughts are... wow. It's actually pretty awesome. The sucky crafting system has been redone and streamlined, the requirements for oxygen etc is less painful with a choice of planets including one with a breathable atmosphere. The hunting is better (though animations still very alpha) foraging is better, everything is vastly better than it was. An early access game that's actually been improved on over the past year? Who woulda thunk?
The game right now is one I would recommend to anyone who wants a 'Minecraft in space' or 'No Man's Sky but good' type game.

I tried it, but didn't care for the autosave system. I wished I could manually hard save, as it autosaved me into a dead end and I couldn't bear to start over. I may try it again when it gets a final release.
