Enable compass on SRV

Thought that there used to be a compass on the SRV HUD, but mine seems to have disappeared. Does anyone know how to re-enable it.
Keep driving round in circles, which is a fitting metaphor for the game, but it would be nice to know which direction I was heading before the srv bounced and turned me around. Not always possible to follow landmarks.

Should be at the top of the HUD. Was there when I last checked. No way to disable it manually

I've never noticed a compass before. I always use coordinates. Also a compass works off magnetic fields..I didn't think landables had magnetospheres?

This is the compass in the SRV. You saying you don't see that?

You'd need a magnetic field to use a magnetic compass to orient relative to magnetic poles, but geographic poles and headings have nothing to do with the location of the magnetic poles.

Magnetic north is so far from geographic north on Earth that a magnetic compass is generally a tool of last resort since the advent of GPS.

Yea I don't pay any attention to that tbh. What does it reference at zero? The ship? I call that a heading marker, ships have them too.

That's the compass.

0/360 is north, 90 is east, 180 is south, 270 is west.

It's not a huge blanked image now, which is much better.

this is even better:

Forums -> Your account -> Preferences -> uncheck "Show people's signatures with their messages".

a handy way to respect freedom of expression (even art terrorism!) without having to read a text forum spammed with the same ad banners repeated over and over by people who think avatars are somehow not intrusive enough to promote their utterly important perceived identities ... on every. single. post.

Nahh some people put some work into theirs and they're interesting.

Most are whatever. Gives a peek into how some people tick.
