LostWinds End game, left king inside palace

I'm right at the end, before fighting Riveren, when I decided to go back out and grab some missing idols. This resulted in me exiting the palace which I believe means I'm now stuck, as I can't open the door to the palace without the king.

Is there any way to continue? I'm playing on the Wii version if it makes any difference.

Nope, does nothing. :(

My last save is still inside the palace, but it's in the bathhouse. I spent quite a bit of time attempting to backtrack, using back-to-back cyclones to climb up the huge water slide at the beginning of the furnace room, but once I reached the top, it wouldn't let me zone back any further. :(:(

My apologies for the delay replying. Can you clarify where you have back tracked to? Is the door that leads to the Riveren fight itself in the area called "The Palace" on the map? Or have you gone all the way back to the "City Entrance"?

My save in the bathhouse makes it impossible to backtrack to where the Riveren fight is. There's a certain stage where once you pass, you can no longer backtrack. I forget the name of it but at the end, you jump down a watery slope which leads to the bathhouse I believe.

I have a similar problem

In melodic city 2.

I left the and came back and it reset the lifts with the king below the lift. No way to get back down to him as you need him to work the lift. Also no way to get out so you can get back to him.
