engine boost is not working - question

Quick question, my "available" power is above the "deployed" power value by 1MW and yet i can't boost - message shown " not enough power in capacitors"

what is required?

How many pips have you got in engines?
If you have none it won't recharge the capacitors

Have you tried logging out and back in?

Are you using a big enough power distributor (not power plant)? If your distributor doesn't have enough capacity for your thrusters, you can't boost at all.

this is logical but where can i see if this is enough? do i have a warning or info about this requirement? (when buying or anywhere else)

Apologies, but not that I know of. Generally if you use an undersized distributor for your ship, this might happen.

I guess this is the case in my configuration - I wish there was a warning for this similar to the warning for "not enough power" you can see if your lack enough power.

I think Changtau has hit the nail with his comment/advice a reconfig of ship may be required.
