Engine update

As we know, cobra engine is quite a bit outdated, and that brings us few important problems, that worry me about game's future.
1.Hitboxes can't be made more smooth and smaller cause of technic problems
2.As aviaries are possible to make since we had them in JWE, we had no aquariums in JWE, even if there was a mosasaurus present in the movie. Water animals mostly move all the time, so it wouldn't be that easy to make them half pre-programmed like aviaries. Also, none of animals actually in-game (like polar bears or crocodiles) actually dive, which is propably also caused by the technic problems.
Do you think frontier will somehow figure out how to make those additions and enchancements on their actual engine? is it even possible for them to upgrade it in an update?
Or....like someone said before, we need to wait for "sequel" (that sounds very lame imo)

Nobody knows for sure what’s possible in game yet and what’s not. Like Sdanwolf said on one of his videos if frontier can’t do something they usually come out and say it like they did with the water park requests in Planco. Planet zoo uses a modified version of the cobra engine from my understanding.

I think it's possible that they can overcome these problems. I'm by no means a programmer of course. Most of the discussion around a sequel tends to relate to the idea that some of these features might be impossible to implement in Cobra, but the truth is only Frontier really knows for certain. We also can't be certain that those limitations to exist - a lot of what people, including myself, theorise is just conjecture, and deduced from what little we do know about the engine.

Unfortunately, only time will tell.

I don't know if it's outdated - just because some things are more tricky to implement.

I think they said don't expect an overhaul for the hitboxes - so i'm guessing that won't be changed in the future.

While I like to see aviaries/diving/marine etc. - aviaries and marine animals weren't advertised in the game.
We don't know if this is part of their vision for this game.
Do i think they will figure this out and add this in a future update?
I think/hope: Yes, but not to the extend that some people are fantasizing about.

Waiting for a sequel. I think that's a pointless discussion. I agree, that's sounds a bit lame.
While some people say maybe after 5 years - it could easily be 10 or never.
