Engineers Engineer mats = no more sidewinder suicide bounty move

Only thought of this because I was about to do the old sidewinder suicide to dormant a bounty.

then realized couldn't buy sidewinder due to cargo restricting the purchase. Normally, just live with bounty and don't use the sidewinder maneuver but in what has to be a 2.1 bug - was attacked by a clearly hostile NPC ship when I was coming in for planet landing.

there was no restricted zone, not a single base on this icy moon, nothing around me but miles and miles of flat white icy moon terrain. NPC ship attacks me, and got at least 4-5 hits on my shield. So definitely attacked first, fired, and hit first. Killed NPC too quick to take in warning the murder bounty messages (e.g could not pull off from attacking after seeing wanted status warning because warning and death notice arrived same time - was small NPC ship vs anaconda, and first shots with c4 mc and all pulsed lasers insta killed NPC.

basically, got attached, defended, yet was given the wanted bounty for "murder". So was going to sidewinder it off when I realized guess this tactic,,good or bad, is basically finished with 2.1 until and unless storage comes in.

note - I am not advocating for nor against the use of sidewinder suicide, just making an observation.
 
I was attacked by a Mission Target - Wanted NPC during a series of mission runs. The NPC ran away and high waked into another system... So I wake scanned and followed it. I was instantly interdicted by that same NPC upon entering the system, submitted and was attacked... Only the NPC was not wanted in this system, even after interdicting and attacking me again. I killed it, gained a pretty huge bounty for murder. It was just some backwater Independent system, so I figured I'd just avoid it and it'd be fine.

Well, I don't know if it's a bug or not, but now I'm constantly getting Elite rated bounty hunters coming after me in systems where I'm not wanted. They'll interdict and if I leave they'll just follow me back into supercruise. They don't bother scanning me and just always attack instantly, giving themselves a bounty in the process... But with how difficult Elites are to fight now, it's really unbearable to have them chase me everywhere I go for a week until the bounty expires.
 
Did you have report crimes against me turned on? Because if not, they wont become wanted when they attack you, as you haven't reported the crime.

ahhhh, damn it. you're right. totally forgot about that.

had RCAM turned off as I just did some long range smuggling runs and turn that off for those missions to avoid security showing up for scans. Forgot to turn back on - no wonder the guy shooting me didn't become Wanted.
 
In addition to the Report Crimes Against Me, they also have to hit you I know you know this, but I had an odd encounter where it bit me. I had a pirate come up to me, not wanted, and I started maneuvering before he fired. Made him miss with his railgun shots, I didn't notice, and fired back. I got the bounty for my troubles. Ended up taking him to 1% hull and leaving him behind when he refused to run.

Erm, if you self destruct or die in anything, you're going to lose your cargo anyway. So sidey not having the racks for your stuff isn't really an issue.
