Newcomer / Intro Engineer stole my ship

So I landed at Siris and visited the on-foot engineer.

When I went back to the lift it said "no accessible ship docked".

I looked on the System and Galaxy maps, my ship icon appeared against the planet and base, except zooming right in to the planet surface map it wasn't there.

I took an Apex shuttle to the only Shipyard in the system, on a ground starport on another planet. There was no-one behind the shipyard desk.

Whagwan?

there are 2 different elevators at the engineer. Do you look at the right place?
Yes of course! I know where both sets are, I had to take Apex to leave. It's not like the lobby is very big at an on-foot engineer, the lifts aren't hidden.

Total relog (again) at the shipyard-bearing station, Inter Astra still has no-one behind the desk, even though other outlets do.

Some planetary starports have an InterAstra office, but no clerk at the desk.
You may need to get the Apex to another starport - preferably an orbital starport

There is an obscure bug that happens every once in a while. When you dock, you don't actually complete the action but it lets you get out of the ship (I think when it happens you may have issues accessing services). What ends up happening is your ship is not treated as docked but floating around somewhere nearby. You can go to an InterAstra and get it transferred, or you can just use the Stuck Recovery option.

It would be interesting to take the Apex from the engineer's hidey-hole to some ghost town settlement nearby, get out and walk into the wilderness, and try Recall Ship there. However, I've a feeling it would just say "ship out of range" like it does when I've travelled by dropship to a ground CZ and walked out into the wilderness. But worth a try.

Like a wuss I took a second Apex back to my home system where I've got more ships, as I was getting fed up being a hobo.
