Engineered Anaconda for Colonia Transport

I've actually managed to unintentionally get to Colonia with my fully beefed up engineered Asp (I actually went out with no specific destination via "The Ascendance" to the "Orio-Persean Conflux" then to Colonia as I thought since I was close it might be a good idea to cash in my discoveries and get promoted to Elite Exploration).

While at Colonia, I got my Elite status and I checked and noticed it didn't take much to transport my other Asp ship to there (About 45 million). And I thought, what if when I return to the bubble, I get an Anaconda, fully equip it with the best modules for FSD and travel and then use that as a Bubble to Colonia t (and visa vera) transport only ship where I could store my Asp Exploration ship at Colonia instead of in the bubble. This way any time I had the urge to explore, I could just jump in my Anaconda and take it to the Bubble fast or from the Bubble to Colonia.

With that in mind and getting a fully engineered FSD increased G5 range for the Anaconda and trying to make it as light weight as possible without any extras, what would be a good estimate on a trip from say the Bubble to Colonia? I know it depends where I'm leaving from in the bubble, but just and estimate of how many jumps I might get (range) for a 1000 ly distance?

I plan on doing what I have with my other fast travel ships and roll about 15-20 times for the G5 Increased range FSD (yes I know it's a lot of grinding which I've done several times), so hopefully getting it up to about 50%+ increase in range if I can (though would settle for 48+% if needed).

I know people have used various ships and said the journey to Colonia average is from 6.5 to 12 hours depending on a billion factors, but notably just honking and scooping and out. Though these ships being used I think where more equipped for actual exploration or other uses (aka more weight) than my ship which will be just fast transit and nothing but Bubble to Colonia and visa versa, nothing else...

This is my current Anaconda I just left the bubble with headed toward Colonia.

62/65ly range and ~17 jumps per 999ly plot. 18 jumps if I filter out class M stars.
Most of my plotted jumps are close to 60ly.

Stripped bare for scoop and honk, you could get up to 67ly with my FSD roll of 53.3%. That might get you to 15 or 16 jumps per 1Kly

I docked at Attenborough's Watch last night after only about two hours.
I expect I'll be there in about 5 days at my rate of ~4 to 4.5Kly every 2 hours.

If you're not lollygagging like me, you should be able to do at least ~3,750ly/hour if stripped down to a 67ly range.
Buckyballing at ~45 seconds per jump that would be around 5Kly/hour
That would get you to Colonia in ~4-6 hours depending on your jump range and jump rate.

My best time. Power jumping.

[
My best times at 58ly range was heart and soul to maia i one hour 53 min. Approx 7000ly. So 3600 per hour is a good power jumping number.

Rig it up like you are trying to qualify for the Distant Stars expedition then lightweight the sensors for a bit more jump range.

Personally, I prefer flying cheap ships to Jaques, so that when I decide to go back to the bubble for whatever reason, I can just take the Suicidewinder ticket*, and have my travel ship transferred back to the bubble without paying too much. I tend to use a Courier for this (stripped down to 44 ly full tank range), but if I did it today, I'd probably do it with a DBE instead. After all, it can achieve jump ranges close to an Anaconda, and is much cheaper - therefore, much cheaper to transfer too.

*: store your ship at the shipyard and buy a Sidewinder, self-destruct, take the "free Sidewinder" option to spawn at your original starting location back in the bubble. Then you can transfer over your old ship, although you will have to wait ~61 hours for it.

Yeah, a DBE can get to 60ly range for about 16 mil vs 253 mil for the 'conda.
I'd put a DSS on there for anything you might wish to scan on the way, but yep, that's a fine example. With a DSS and a 2A power plant, it would still do 60 ly. The good thing with such "runner" ships is that you can save even more on the weight - no need for an SRV bay, thruster boosting, and so on.

If by transport you just mean yourself, adding one-point-something tons for a DSS makes no difference to the number of jumps needed with a Conda, as you can only plot one kyile at the time.
So, like Marx suggested, bring a DSS just in case you'll need it.
Neutron highway optimisation requires a lot extra fuel capacity. Maybe 64-96 tons extra. If you prefer buckyballing the classic way, reduce your tank to 10-16 tons and use star filters to only plot through M class stars.
(added)
It might be true the DBX can get a 60 LY range, compared to the 70 LY range a Conda can get. But, the DBX also needs more time scooping on each jump as you only have a size 4 scoop for a size 4 FSD. The Conda comes with a size 7 scoop for a size 6 FSD, meaning, you're done scooping by the time your FSD cool down is complete. The Conda is a lot better for fast travels.

The only problem with the DBE is the fuel scoop. I think a 42 mil Asp with a smaller 57ly jump range could possibly beat the DBE to Colona due to the DBE refueling time.
An Asp can maintain a 45 second jump rate but a DBE can't.

...one more thing, about grinding for a god rolled FSD. If you get a 65 LY range Conda and you plan on using it for fast travels, don't bother keep on chasing materials for better rolls.
The way our plotting mechanic works, in 999 light year stints, you're extremely unlikely to gain anything from improving after that, as the light years you save on one stint doesn't carry over to the next stint. The savings with an FSD improving a 65 LY range is really unlikely to become so good you'll reduce the plotting by one more jump on a 999 LY route.

Thanks for the replies. So I guess the big thing is I don't need to skimp on credits as I have far more than I'll ever need. So Anaconda vs DBE wouldn't even phase me with the savings at all.

And yes I'll be booming straight through filtering the stars as I do now (though I exclude M class in my current exploration ship). Currently right now with that filtering I can get about 21 jumps per 1000 LY (depending of course where in the galaxy I am and how frequent the scoopable stars are), but getting it down to even 17 as stated above, that would still make an improvement.

And I will be plotting my routes as I do now with 1000 LY increments rather than doing any Neutron or Jumponium jumps (I find that to take much longer to do in the long run and only use it if I am really tight on fuel and feulable stars in the local area).

So I might just try it out and see what I can get and do a test run. After all I've never even bought any of the big 3 (though I only qualify for the Anaconda and Cutter atm), so I'm just kind of curious too to see how it works and handles as I really have no other need for it (I like my FDL for combat and really don't do much of that) and I don't trade anymore (old Python trading days are over). That way it at least gets me a feel of how it handles, but mainly it's just speed back and forth that I need (aka Buckyballing it)...

That's what you think, until we all need to buy anti-Thargoid guns that cost 500m each and they're projectile weapons with ammo costing 5m/round...

In that case I'll just doc my Anaconda and just fly my Asp to as far as I can fly it and hang out in deep dark space until the price goes down...

If you are after travelling as quickly as possible between the Bubble & Colonia then you should be using the neutron super highway. That way you should be able to get down to no more than 4 hours if you are not scanning anything. A really optimised Conda with an optimised route should be able to do it in less than 2.5 hours.

To make best use of the neutron boosts I would suggest fitting extra fuel tanks. I opt for 64T of total fuel. That allows me to do 7 or 8 neutron boosts in a row before stopping to refuel. Every other refuelling I also repair the FSD - you definitely need at least one AFMU! (if you can power up extra ones then that helps reduce the repair time).

It takes about 2,500 LY to get from the Bubble to where there are enough neutron stars to use them continually but there are a few on the way you can use to reduce the number of normal jumps. After that it will take 100 or so jumps to get to Colonia.

I just found Neutron jumping took longer to set the course than to not use them. Do you still have to set the course manually for each jump or did they fix it so you can re-open the galaxy map and have it auto calculate the for FSD overcharge now?

It's manual, even with the fsd too boosts.

It's still manual, but it just takes practice. It can take some time if yo are trying to find a system at the very limits of your jump range but there's no need to do that, just pick a decent one (eg if you can jump 240 LY then 230 is more than fine). And if you use EDDiscovery or similar then on subsequent trips out you can save even more time by reusing the same route.

I've seen a route planner somewhere for neutron jumps. You can enter your jump range and it will give you a list of neutron stars you can copy and paste into the navigation screen for your next jump.
