Engineers Engineering Power Plant and heat efficiency.

Hello. I ask this because i got a little confused and never really bothered about it .


It is about power plant Heat efficiency , can someone explain when it is better and when it is worse? 0.5 is good or 0.4 is good?


Now i will explain why i am confused .

In old system when i overcharged PP i got higher numbers of Heat efficiency (from 0.4 to 0.5) and it was in red , so it was negative effect , at least i assumed that .
But in new system i checked how much materials i need to downgrade my PP and i noticed that change from 0.55 to 0.45 is in red so it is "negative effect"
Same goes with PP levels , higher grade , higher number heat efficiency and everyone say that higher number is better ....

And Coriolis when i add 105 of heat efficiency turn 0.4 into 0.44 ading even more to my confusion .

I simply don't need 52 MW in PP that i have now and wanted to downgrade it to ~45 MW . As i remembered old engineering system i assumed my heat efficiency will be better , but new system say in red colors to me "0.45 efficiency is worse than 0.55 " ....
 
o.4 is the best so 0.5 is the worst so any where in between there is always better, i got a powerplant in my vette with a 0.44 heat efficiency with 54.63 power out put, but that was in the old system when the secondaires where great not ever trading that in.
 
0.45 is less than 0.55 in pure numbers, so it is shown as red. In fact, 0.45 is better than 0.55 - this number means extra heat generated per each used MW.

I know but previous engineering system was showing it right , when it increased it was red meaning less heat eff , new system just confused me so thanks for clarification
