Disclaimer: Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, this is a frivolous thread, just a bit of fun and humour.
I will be honest, I am not a fan of Engineers, especially the way they are implemented in the game and the magic and assumptions one must use to understand them. But enough of that, this thread is about what possible engineering upgrades we can think of that we really really need
. Here are a couple I have thought up:
Windscreens:
Docking Computer:
SRV:
Okay that is enough for now. Please remember this is a light hearted thread, have some fun with the concepts

Windscreens:
Armoured - increases the strength of the windscreen until at G5 it is damn near indestructible . Downside is it is now quite thick and adds mass to the frame of the ship.
Tinted - Automatically darkens the windscreen when too close to a bright light source like oh a star .
One Piece - for those ships with segmented windscreen, this mod will replace the individual panes with a one piece windscreen, thus eliminating those dreadful structural bits that get in the way.
Permaclean - A new coating for your windscreen that eliminates any buildup of scratchs, dust and hand prints.

Docking Computer:
Stealth Mode - Upon activation the DC will ensure you do not get scanned by avoiding any system security ships and boosting through the slot before slowing down to land.
Departure Mode - Upon receiving launch approval, the DC will now safely take control of your ship, exit the station/outpost and position the ship 5km from the station before shutting down. Expected to be popular with Beluga commanders.
Assisted Remote Landing - when attempting to land on a planet the DC will fire a probe (unlimited number of course) which will scan the surrounding area, locate a suitable landing site and impact the ground. The DC will then land the ship guided by the impacted probe.
High G Landing Assistance - When activated, the DC will recognise if the ship is attempting to land on a High G planet and boosts power to the thrusters above nominal levels to ensure no mishaps occur.

SRV:
Gravity Assistance - Installs additional micro thrusters to provide better traction on low G bodies (thrusters are pointing down) or better traction on high G worlds (thrusters are point up).
Studded Tyres - Provides superior grip on the most icy of surfaces.
Racing Slicks - For those who want a challenge when operating their SRVs
Extra Speakers - So we can finally here the chirps from the scanner without straining
