  • Felicita Farseer: Meta-Alloys needed, but barnacles no longer seem to yield any - Update: available at Darnielle's Progress in the Maia system now, confirmed by several commanders. Source: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=227901&p=3956453&viewfull=1#post3956453
  • Elvira Martuuk: Soontil relics needed, but no longer available at Ngurii - Update: "Soontill Relics are now in place (weren't there earlier today) in Cheranovsky City, Ngurii. Bought 4 of them there and took them to Elvira Martuuk to get basic Engineer access."

I am merely compiling information here (still at work and could not check myself) and would hope that others might chime in as what is needed for each engineer and if there might be any difficulty obtaining it.

yeah i was looking for meta alloys at merope 5c but the barnacles had already been harvested, so tried logging into solo, but they are still gone:-/

100k Bounty donation is working to unlock him... but Meta-Alloys and Soontil relics are ridiculous.
Maybe FD had massively increased the chance and number of places to find some of this stuff.
This must be possible without using Google.

Sounds like, as missions should show up to show you what you need to do to be able to take them

I've been selling Imperial Slaves in a variety of black markets to gain access to The Dweller, but apparently it's not registering in my statistics. Does it not count if you originally bought the goods legally? Maybe it's because I've sold at a loss?

edit: additionally I'll note that my stats do say I have 1 Black Market Network, and the progress bar on unlocking The Dweller looks right for that (not the number I've actually used), but the current count under that bar says 0/5.

There are 2 missions on the board for the Blue Mafia, but I lack the rep to do either of them. Maybe I should just wait to see if a better mission shows up after a while. I was able to unlock the Blue Mafia in beta by doing a delivery mission for them, which then gave the intro for the engineer.

The mission board will refresh, it wont just be those 2 missions you cannot access forever

That sounds like an issue, possibly a bug. From what I know, every time you sell anything at a black market new to you, it should up the counter by one. Did anybody else observe this?

I'm going to go try to find some illegal salvage and see if that helps. I'm guessing that selling at a loss does not count, as illogical as that is.

Ah reputation with minor factions. Either they own a station to dump cargo or exploration data onto, or you are screwed...

Edit: Okay I checked. They have 2 surface stations in the system with commodities markets.

Turn in bounties for them, that usually works to get that initial rep. Also, having low rep doesn't mean they will *never* have missions for you-just none at the moment for someone of your reputation.

All the way out to the Pleiades and for what? so I could stare at some broken barnacles for a while in the company of a load of other irritated CMDRs?

Actually, it was so busy out there, it was kinda fun. And a 1.8 mill rebuy for an instant teleport to Shinrarta ain't so bad either really. :)

So, the only two engineers that I'm currently interested in are broken? Surely not, after the months of hype? I'm glad I didn't make the long trek to Merope only to find you can't harvest Meta-alloys any more and no relics in the game either. Nice one! lol. I think I'll stay out in the black until 2.2. I really don't get it. Months of hype on how amazing the engineers are, beta testing with fish to see what's possible and then when the game goes live it's a mission impossible just to find out how long you need to grind for the first level of mods.... no thanks!

Too early for a rage quit, this might just be a bug. Let's see what FDev will have to say on this over the next few days and what happens after the first bug fix (these never take long after a major update). So relax, play something else and come back for 2.1.1
