Engineers Engineers upgrades just for that unit?

If I go to an engineer and get, say, my FSD uprated - does that upgrade apply to all the FSDs I might buy for that ship? or only for that model.
So if I got an A2 FSD upgraded when I went there, and I then wanted an A4 (or whatever) would the upgrade still apply?

Or am I asking a stupid question...

No. That upgrade only applies to that module. Also, if you sell a module with an upgrade, that upgrade goes away with the sold component. In other words, the upgrade cannot be separated from the module and used elsewhere.

Not stupid and it only affects that specific module/weapon. You do get it back as part of the rebuy though.

Edit: double ninja'd :)

Like they said it is just the one. So you can't do a group of weapons at a time.

The good news is that you can sell it from one ship and then buy it back with another ship.

Ah Right then.

Guess I'd better ensure that I upgrade as much as possible BEFORE hitting the engineer.

Thanks for that!
